But yeah, let’s have a punt on someone else!
Not sure any of our attacking players have increased in value particularly.

Townsend and Zaha have not kicked onto another level beyond where you expected. None of the strikers seem to be able to play and score goals in his teams etc.

I think he has improved the grafters but not the technical players. We score and concede less goals under him i think.

Goals change games and last night if Andros doesn't stick it over the bar from 6 yards out then the result might have been different. The fact is we've never been on the end of a real hiding under Roy like for example Bournemouth were last night against Arsenal.
Lukaku should have had 2 more, early in each half - 5-1 would have been a hiding but it wasn't because last night Man Utd let us off the hook.

Donít think weíve reached either of those points yet. Deserves a full season with a decent striker, and I doubt weíll have much money in the near future with the cost of the new stand.
Should probably find him a striker who, under the previous 2 managers, averaged almost a goal every other game in the PL?

Last night we equalled the lowest number of goals scored at home by any team in a PL season. We have a few more games, we should score a few more goals but we are unlikely to average a goal a game at home, and will be one of only 2 teams in that position this season.

People go to games to be entertained, goals are entertainment.

Where did I say they were a poor side? I said we’ve beaten far better sides, and that’s a fact. 13/14: 3rd placed Chelsea and 5th placed Everton, wankers finished 7th 14/15: 2nd placed Man City, wankers finished 4th. 16/17: 2nd placed Chelsea, 4th placed Liverpool and 5th placed arsenal, wankers finished 6th. 18/19: Champions for me, but at worst 2nd placed Man City. Personally consider them the best side in the world.

Who knows if that’s to do with Roy? Big injury, and didn’t look great at the back end of Allardyce’s reign. Confidence clearly shattered too.

Depends if you are talking last nights team or our best team....

De Gea - clearly would
Shaw - wouldn't take him over PVA
Smalling - wouldn't take him over Sakho
Lindelof - wouldn't take him over Tomkins
Young - wouldn't take him over AWB
Pogba - clearly would
McTominey - not over Luka but over all others
Fred - not seen enough of him but wasn't that impressed last night
Sanchez - think Zaha is better
Dalot - no, not over Townsend
Lukaku - we would take.

Indeed, we have had a punt on so many over the years. Other than Coppell and Allardyce they have been abject failures. But carry on let's have another punt.

I think that is one of the issues I have had with Roy recently now we do have strikers(and I don't have many issues with him tbh). Too passive on occasion, just a little too much emphasis on maintaining defensive shape perhaps. Its a tricky balance I know.

You wouldnít take Shaw over PVA, what a joker. He was one of the best players on the pitch last night.

West Brom - 11/12 - Peter Odemwingie - 10
Liverpool - 10/11 - Dirk Kuyt - 3 in 16 under Roy, 10 in 16 when he was gone, Torres 6 in 19 then sold
Fulham - 09/10 - Bobby Zamora - 8
Fulham - 08/09 - Andy Johnson - 7

When has Roy managed to get a forward to score goals on a regular basis in the PL?

If you let Shaw run from his own half and Android missing from six yards out
Not much Roy could do about that

I make that 8 of last nights teams would be in our team, that is from an depleted Utd side. The gulf is huge in resources.

Since muhrinio has left he's been there best player so when he's got the ball get on his case I know that's probably too simple I haven't seen the game I listened to the commentary and Paul Parker said it was a goal out of nothing

You have massaged it a bit though.

Dalot played on the right side, would you have him over Townsend? I doubt it.
Sanchez played on the left side, would you have him over Zaha? I doubt it.

So you are down to 7, 2 of which get in because of our injuries at the back where we don't have the depth of cover the big teams do.

At most 5 of the Man Utd players last night would get into our best team - they were not that strong.

Van Aanholt on form is one of the best attacking left-backs in the league. This season though he has mostly been shite.

Fred might be decent if offered for £10m or so but United forked out nearly £60m which is just bonkers.
