Note that ANY club is allowed to fit seats like this NOW. If there are areas in their ground where fans habitually stand, the safety advice is now to consider doing so in order to enhance safety.

Your club can do this now.
Unfortunately in an unused block of seats and not to be used operationally.

SafeStandingRS appears to be a one man band!

We have real trouble with this at our away Melbourne derby games, when people buy tickets in the "Active" area which allows standing and a few insist on sitting. My Melbourne Victory Membership card states on it "Standing area" in the South End active bay which is the whole of the bottom tier... circa 5,000 seats. So I can envisage real problems with those Wolves type seats in certain circumstance.

Not sure why people would buy a ticket in an active area and complain when people stand... seems totally ridiculous to me. Wonder if that will happen in the English leagues in the future.

Why sit in amongst this lot?

He may be a one man band, but he lobbies like crazy and knows the current regs inside out.

It just needs Spurs ground to open, then others will follow

In the interests of the facts, Wolves have only set a demonstration block of rail seating in a disused part of their stadium. It's not been licenced for use so won't be used for matches.

That's actually quite ingenious. Seats are mounted on a little ledge so your feet might dangle if you choose to sit.

You know what I mean

Wycombe have become the first English club to install seating which allows fans the choice to stand or sit without blocking the view of others.

I shouldn't think so, the racist chanting that took place inside the stadium had nothing to do with whether people were standing or sitting.

The violence that took place outside of the ground had no correlation with it either.

Ludicrous situation. Typical modern day health and safety red tape beaurocratic nonsense. Tens of thousands stand at football every weekend in ‘unsafe’ conditions. A huge collective blind eye is turned. Green light for rail seating should be given now. It’s doesn’t need a multi million pound investigation to see if it’s ‘safe’. As long as the numbers entering the ground are regulated and there’s no fencing to crush people against, standing up to watch a game of football is hardly up there with harness free rock climbing or diving with sharks.

An online/emailed questionnaire to determine demand, compliance with the (laughable considering the current ‘acceptence’ of standing) health and safety hoops that need jumping through (Access and egress easier, built for purpose. End of) and then seats could be installed in a matter of weeks.

It is legal NOW, the latest green guide reclassified rails in front of seated accomodation as legal. You just can't specifically advertise it as 'standing' area...

Palace could instal these now just as Wolves are planning to install 5000 this summer.

so right in every way as standing is now so prevalent. a complete lack of trust and sympathy almost contempt however by this government towards football supporters

If Palace did a full lower tier reset, then the cost of compensating the 400 currently being evicted from the stand could pay for hundreds of rail seats instead
