I just got an email from the box office warning about “fraudulent ticket use” - specifically adults using concession or junior tickets.

I thought that junior tickets for mid week games were able to be used by adults. Anyone know if this been changed?

They need to be upgraded to adult according to the website.

If you intend to use a junior ticket as an adult, you must upgrade in advance or risk being refused entry.

I wonder when the sneaked that in. Since 2010 took over it's always been a case of adults being able to use kids tickets on school nights.

Probably depends on the area of the ground, but I upgraded a junior ticket to an adult one for the West Ham game and it cost £30.

I wouldn’t do it personally (cheat at getting cheap tickets) but they never check and are just happy for you to scan it yourself. I just assume they are saying this to prey on your conscious.

You definitely could in years gone by but not sure now. Try checking the Questions to CPFC2010 on here. Bound to have been asked.

I was in the Box Office last week getting e-tickets as I can’t make the game and got the gypsy’s warning about selling them on. Seems only Twickets is acceptable to them. They told me several STs have been cancelled. God knows how they check em but as I was in the frame I decided to give it a swerve this game.

It was actively encouraged in Championship days as I remember and I think it just continued as accepted practice even after promotion. The first time I heard it suggested that you could no longer do it was earlier this season. I suspect that the club have realised that they can now make more cash via twickets.

It's a shame really as it was one of those little human things that made our club so different and it feels like those differences are gradually being eroded.

If it has gone (and it certainly looks that way) then I totally agree with you - a rare example of a club taking a pragmatic position that benefits the supporter.

Modern football is rubbish etc

Pretty sure there was a flyer sent out with the 18/19 season ticket wallet, though it just talked generally about no adults on a kids ticket rather than specifically saying the previous custom and practice for midweek games had changed.

Agree with others that it's a shame though probably no surprise as there has no mention of it by the club for a long time.

Will be interesting to see how they try to check for abuse, having sent the emails they surely can't manually check every ticket but can't now be seen to tolerate the previous lax arrangements

Just called the box office and they confirmed that the policy of allowing child tickets to be used by adults on school nights was removed last season. £27 to upgrade a junior ticket and £35 for an U10 ticket.

As noted by GTR above it will be interesting to see to what extent the club follow up on the checks outlined in their email:

“Crystal Palace stewards will be checking all tickets at search points to identify adult supporters trying to gain entry using a concession or junior ticket. If possible please allow extra time for your visit to Selhurst Park on Wednesday night.”

Could be some frustrations as people try to get in.

I don't remember reading that his had changed when the renewals went through?
That was a nice bonus considering it was only ever a handful of games where it applied.

I assume then that they'll also now clamp down on the touting of season tickets all over the Whitehorse. You always see people wander in looking for seat/row numbers with printed pieces of paper in their hands. And quite often its away fans.
