Jimmy Mac MOM for me. His work rate (especially off the ball) is superb. Schlupp deserves a mention alongside Ayew too (of whom I’m not a fan, but thought he worked his socks off)

Sakho got bullied by Mitrovic first half - well done Roy for switching Tonks to marking him in the second

Great to see VG making that number 1 spot his own. Shocking distribution today though

Good to see us with some clever play and short touches in the box again. The team feels like it’s coming together again.

Looked like it from my end...I think Mitrovic wasn't expecting it to get to him...fortunately!

A massive 3 points today that moves us 9 points ahead of Fulham, and a day where the result was everything. I thought that we were relatively poor in the first half, and but for a bad miss by Mitrovic and a mental abherration by a Fulham defender, we could have been behind. We turned things around after half time and were much more in control, and when the second goal evenutally came, at least we could relax in those last few minutes.

Guaita - 7 - Had virtually nothing to do apart from claim a couple of crosses.

AWB - 7.5 - I can't talk highly enough of him. An amazing find and another assured performance which meant their left sided midfielder knew he wasn't going to get past him.

PVA - 5 - Off his game today (and maybe even for a couple of games before). Passes went astray, and was too hasty in playing balls into the area. However, I felt that he was exposed too often to 2 opponents on that side by Schlupp who was either caught upfield or way inside.

Sakho - 8 - Solid as a rock and great on the ball, I wish he could bury one of these sitters, but MOTM for me.

Tomkins - 7 - After getting flattened in the box at Southampton and sustaining a nasty injury today, solidered on in heroic fashion. These 2 CBs have proved a (generally) solid combination as proved by the number of clean sheets. Was it him that lost Mitrovic for their one dangerous moment?

Luka - 6 - Improved as the game went on, and again buried a pressure penalty even though the keeper got a hand to it. Was one of a number of players who weren't on their passing game today. We had a lot of corners today but didn't make the most of them.

McArthur - 5 - Not a good game today, from a generally dependable player. Misplaced the ball far too often, but did provide the cross for the handball. Hopefully back tonormal for next week.

Schlupp - 6 - Interesting to read the opinions today, because I thought that he was one of the poor passers initially and exposed PVA on the left side. Got going as the game went on in an attacking sense, and was in the right place at the right time to tap in the second. He is a bit of a dilemma, as you can't deny 4 Premier League goals is very useful, and he is a good squad player.

Townsend - 7 - A quiet game in the first half but was carrying the ball more in the second half without really threatening (apart from a miskick).

Benteke - 7.5 - I thought he did really well today. Won everything in the air, and an almost incredible comeback goal. Taken off with cramp according to Roy. Positive signs for the rest of the season for him.

Ayew - 7 - A much improved performance after a dreadful second half where nothing would stick against Southampton. Cannot fault his effort today , closing down and drawing fouls but just doesn't look dangerous enough as a striker. Got one good shot off.

Subs:
Meyer - 6 - After standing there waiting to come on for 6-7 minutes he didn't have a big impact. Some neat passing, but also was knocked off the ball a few times.

Batshuayi - showed what we have been missing with some great footwork and a shot which nearly went in outright. Could prove to be the piece in the jigsaw that allows us to have a really good end of season.

Sako - carried the ball well to help kill the game. Good to see him back.

Roy - 6.5 - The result was all that mattered today, but I thought we gave them too much respect in the first half. To his credit things improved markedly after halftime. He now has decent options for the remainder of the season.

Referee - 8 - Oliver is the best by far in the Premier League and didn't get anything wrong today.

Guiata - 7 - Looks like a good addition
Bissaka - 8 - Unbeatable
PvA - 4 - Really poor looks lacking in confidence.
Tomkins - 7 - Very solid
Sakho - 7 - Missed another open goal. Would have been 9 had he scored.

Luka - 7 - Solid good corners
McArthur - 5 - Put himself about but really poor passing
Schlupp - 7 - Slow to cover PVA jogged about a lot. Extra point for the goal

Townsend - 7 - Some great defensive covering work.
Benteke - 7 - Much better deserved to score that goal.
Ayew - 7 - Played much better with a lump beside him. worked hard.

Subs
Meyer - 6 - Tried hard
Batshuayi - 7 - Really look the part.
Sako - 6 - Did the job late on

In the few minutes he was on and considering he was just off the plane and was ostensibly rusty Batschuai looked absolutely the dog's bollocks. Was communicating with the other players even though he'd only met them the day before, demanded the ball when he was surrounded by defenders, beat them all, got a shot off which forced the second goal. Obvious class.

Schlupp for me closely followed by Sakho. AWB imperious again. What’s happened to PVA?

Out of interest does anyone know if we have any decent left backs in the academy/u23’s? It would be nice if we could grow them on both sides

Sorry that is BS. Shlupp or no one else except PvA is responsible for his constant passing the ball to the opposition when under no pressure. He has been doing it for most of this season and is becoming a real liability. Shlupp or Ward should replace him imo.

Batman looks like he will made the fundamental difference between us being relegation threatened and solid mid-table.

Meyer needs game time and runners either side or the struggles to physically retain the ball. A real AM charging forward would help him.

Schlupp should play behind the striker ( who must be Bats ) as he has done more damage to opposition defenses per minute up front than any other player. The guy is a striker, no one at the club seems to see that so the least that can be done is play him in an advanced role. I think he will cause real problems. All he wants to do is shoot and he spins off for the shot really well too. Exactly what a goal-shy club needs.
I got neg repped for suggesting Schlupp up front earlier this season when CB was first injured.

Apparently Ayew was the second best player on the pitch. What game were you all watching? Michy did more in the 10’mins he was on the pitch than Ayew did in the whole game.

Giving a player mom due to work rate and pressing is absurd.

I expect more from my forwards...end product and threat. Ayew never gets in scoring positions or look to find space. Look at Michy's movement towards the ball in the box, in the lead up to the second goal.

Michy did more of that in ten mins, than Ayew has done all season

a good result, and well-deserved.
The team is still variable in performance levels. Injuries and suspensions have highlighted areas for improvement in the team/squad.
Palace will be safe for this season, and perhaps that's as much as fans could realistically hope for.

I’m guessing you’re unaware of Ayew’s goals this season, then....
