It was said by some early in the season, when Leeds were getting loads of praise from all angles for their fast, high pressing and were keeping it up for the whole game, match after match, that there was only so long it could be sustained for, especially when the season is 46 games long.

Maybe he's also not quite as good as he gets hyped to be. It was interesting after 'that' press conference following all the spy stuff, that some journalists and a host of football manager game enthusiasts on twitter were raving about him and his preparation; people in the game were largely quite 'meh' about it all.

On a related point, it's interesting that despite all his self-promoted depth of knowledge about Derby, once they got a foothold in the game, his team, despite a half-time with him, had little answer to them.

15 Years and Leeds haven't got anywhere near what they have achieved this year.

Threw away promotion and then bottled the play offs. Yeah he's quite a catch.

Yep my brother has a fairly informed job at Bristol City and he said all the analysis he showed off in the presentation was nothing different to what every club does. But the media fawned over it - maybe because they don't usually see that stuff.

But the way the media brushed spygate under the carpet and said it didn't make any difference to results amazed me too. Of course players still need to perform and execute the key moments in games. But of course it is advantage to know exactly how your opponents plan to set up, who will be in their starting lineup, see the patterns of play they are practicing and see which players are carrying knocks etc. If it didn't help to improve results he wouldn't have done it!

He basically took the same squad minus their best player from last season from 13th to 3rd in the league.Regardless of the carnage that goes with him that's a pretty significant improvement.

What's hilarious is that he achieved nothing, and you start a thread saying we should get him in here

What are the odds of this guy actually being a Brighton fan? I can't believe he is real.

You obviously know very little about Bielsa and his training methods. Or much about anything really. You probably think Guardiola just tells his forwards to go out and play, just Express themselves

Plainly the guy has a touch of genius about him and a vision that others can run with but alter to their needs. And his Chile team were a joy.

But in practical terms, his club experience in Europe follows the same pattern. Some great success, often cup runs, one season, perhaps running out of steam towards the end. Then a disappointing second season, fall out with owners, leaves.

Would make for a great season I suppose .

And yet Roy Hodgson, with a proven track record over many years, who has been particularly effective at similar sized clubs to Palace, who got Fulham to a European final, who got Fulham and West Brom their highest placed finishes in the Premier League era, who kept Palace up after we lost our first seven games without scoring a goal, who has just achieved our highest points tally in a 38 game season, isn't good enough for you.

For sure. I'm not advocating him taking over at Palace at all. I'm happy with Roy anyway. But writing this chap off as a Holloway is crazy.
