btw. VfB have to play either TSV Kropp or Eider Büdelsdorf (both struggling in Oberliga) in Schleswig-Holstein FA Cup final. Would love to get Aachen at Lohmühle in FA Cup 1.Rd proper (or Hamburger SV, FC Bayern or Hans Rostock)

Cordi 0-1 St Pauli. A 78th minute winner from, of all people, ex-VfB Judas - Jens F*cking Scharping!!!

Horrible scenes at BFC Dynamo v. Union Berlin derby. In 77. mins at 1-1 hundreds of Dynamo fans broke down fences ran onto the pitch, over to the Union end and a riot was on. The match was abandoned. 33 arrests were made.

Gregg Berhalter's pen put Energie Cottbus back on track against Munich 1860. Cottbus won 3-1 and were promoted to 1. Bundesliga.

In 1. Bundesliga Cedrick Makiadi (22) scored the winner to save Wolfsburg and send down Kaiserslautern. Makiadi is a VfB Lübeck product who was signed by VfL Wolfsburg when he was 17 (playing in youth team).

Yes, typical that Cordi lose to an old favourite of mine in Scharping.

As for Union v BFC descending into a riot..unfortunately not a suprise is it? When one rival is on the up & relegates the other...it surprises me that the Polizei were not more prepared. Even you & I would have realised there was going to be trouble.

Oh, a quick question. With 4 down to RL and 3 to RL Nord, how does the split into sud & Nord go? Obviously only 2 go up from RL Nord, so does the RL Nord have one more team than the RL Sud?

Finally apologies Ruedi, but I'm going to semi-hijack this thread of yours for the next 3 weeks...at least Cordi have a chance of going up still. Six games left, 4 of them away, 1 point behind VfL 93 and a much better goal difference with a game in hand. Next game v 3rd Place VfL Pinneberg, Cordi still to visit VfL 93...should be a great finish to the season. Fingers crossed.

1000 police at Dynamo game look on as they climb fences. Unbelievable.

It was intended to have a 19-strong Regionalliga Nord next season (the season after back to the 18 temas format) but don't really know what happens now. Either 6 down this season or a 20-team-league.

As for Cordi: I keep my fingers crossed but have my doubts. VfL 93 (with Hollerbach) are ambitious.

Feel free to post Cordi news in this thread. It's about german third-rate football anyway

That'll explain why Sven Tramm is such a good player for Cordi then!
He's finally found his level.

Spotfreunde Siegen is a northern based club but were put into RL South a few years ago to make up the numbers. They were set to get back to their roots in RL North but that might change. Dresden will ask FA to be grouped into RL South rather than domestic RL North.
Very odd situation at the moment.

Roman Abramowitsch: “What’s the difference between a rat and a pet mouse? Public relations.”

Now this:
Top news in "Lübecker Nachrichten" - Roman Abramowitsch is set to make Lübeck his home-base for World Cup 2006. He will come on board on one of two yachts "Le Gran Bleu" and "Pelorus" which will stay at Konstinkai on River Trave right in Old Town.
He's got tickets for nearly every match and intends to fly out by helicopter to games he'll pick spontaneously.

Quote:

Maybe you should ask him to help out VfB's finances for you. Small change for him, surely?

Are any of the Hamburg based teams using VfB for training?

Wehlmann & Mbidzo suprises me. Any reasons for this, or have they just reached the end of their current deals?

all of those have reached end of contracts (same with Möckel, Streit, Laaser, Neumann, Türkmen who are still in talks with the club)

Wehlmann is a highly-paid player. VfB have to cut the wage bill by a few quid.
Mbidzo is 33 years old and sadly gets the axe in order the sign young players so that VfB no longer find it difficult to namethe required number of U-23 player on team-sheet. He was one of my favourite players.

So the bomb is ticking .... it could be either acquittal, a heavy fine or points deduction next season ..... awful
Verdict still to come on Wednesday or Thursday.
I expect points deduction which would ruin next season before even started.

next on the move is Tobias Schweinsteiger. Signed a 2-year-contract with Eintracht Braunschweig.

Bugger. That's a big blow. Something tells me it'll be a summer of activity, yet again, at VfB.

There must be something about teams I support....

Poor result for Cordi last night, losing 2-0 away to 3rd place VfL Pinneberg. Cordi missed a penna (Sven Tramm!) and had Jansen sent off (72.min) & Augustin sent off in the 9th minute of time added on! Leaves Cordi 4 points behind VfL Hamburg. VfL have 4 games left, Cordi have 5, one of which is a visit to VfL.

Why do I already have a bad feeling about this?
