I would too, wage demands in the summer were stupid, plus does he start ahead of wilf, edouard or benteke

Avoid. His lack of desire to leave to secure first team football elsewhere was alarming. He's not played a single minute in the EPL this season.

He’d be a squad player. He’s not a patch on what we’ve got in his position(s)

As back up, at the right price and wage, fine. But as that’s unlikely, it’s a no.

A player that hasn’t been given a chance, but one Arsenal would like to retain.
It seems Vierra / Freedman are interested.

Karen from Facebook says avoid.

I don't think it's from a lack of desire to play football but a desire to prove himself at Arsenal. I don't really blame him for wanting to try.

For comparison, the only reason Conor Gallagher came to Palace was because it was made clear to him that he wouldn't be playing regularly at Chelsea -- he wanted to fight for a place there which is why it took a while to get everything finalised.

I reckon Nketiah will have seen how it's worked out for Gallagher and Guehi, and will determine that a move away would actually serve him better.

The price would be relatively negligible as he will be in the last 6 months of his contract.

His contract at Palace wouldn't be. This was supposedly a sticking point during the summer (that and his wish to force his way into Arsenal's team.)

Players who leave clubs on a non-contract basis will typically ask for significant sign-on bonuses, higher basic pay or both.

It is staggering when reading that some feel he would not be a valuable addition to CPFC. This is a 22yr old who due to the striking riches at Arsenal but also with their managerial turmoil over the past few seasons has got overlooked and never given a proper run in the side, does that mean he is not a good striker? No, just try to think what might be if with a club and manager that appreciates him and gives him the playing opportunities he deserves, what he could produce.
The real fact is Nketiah IS England's highest goalscorer at under 23 level of All time, a list that includes some of the greatest strikers of recent times like Harry Kane, Michael Owen, Alan Shearer, Robbie Fowler to name a few, and some fans on here think he Not good enough to be part of Palace's striker squad, is laughable.
Also lets not forget we have for years been short of genuine goalscorers, of our current group Benteke other than his recent reversal in goalscoring had gone 3 years with what was it 5 league goals? Ayew 1 goal in his last 55 games, Mateta who we all know is not at premiership level and wiil be returned shortly, which only leave Edouard as a genuine goalscorer in our squad.
Yes it will be pointed out by some that he turned us down due to his wage demands, but do we fans know the facts/reasons for not signing or could there have been other factors? whatever it may be is history and i hope we go back in when hopefully Mateta is sent back in January so as we dont miss out by waiting until the summer., as players of his quality that we can afford become available too often.

They will get compensation if he signs for an English club in the millions, and he will then seek a large signing on fee and a large wage. If he was good enough to force his way into the Arsenal team it might be a different matter. Remember Ince?

Could be Meyer Mark 2

Crystal Palace are looking at bringing Chelsea’s Connor Gallagher in on loan. The player who had an unsuccessful period helping to relegate West Brom last year is not in Chelsea’s plans. Whilst he is a Chelsea fan, he is unable to force his way into recent managers plans and will hope he can re boot his career in south London. Palace had the opportunity to sign him last year but preferred a striker that hardly played in Michi Batsuiya. Karen from coulsdon commented on a message board that it would not be a good signing and cited Jordan Mutch.

Thats what I had read somewhere yesterday on a story about him in the press but they are sometimes wrong. What got me was their speculation on compensation fee which was high yet hardly played

Oh fair enough. I thought if they were over 22 when contract expired then no compensation but I might be wrong.

Press often get these things wrong so no compensation clearly possible. He will not be a bargain as already on stupidly high wages.

I am pretty sure that unless Metata is PV's secret weapon that he is waiting to release, than Palace will be in for a striker in the January window. 15m can get you quite a good deal when you have Freedman and Parish negotiating.

Have to think of the squad. Nketiah instead of Ayew and Mateta in 2022/23, we will be stronger for a similar price (wages). He has also re-sale value. Benteke is getting on and forward planning with forwards is key. 2 season of Eduaord scoring 10+ and you would expect that a team would be in for him given his age, attributes and brief Champs league experience.
