Annoyingly though Leeds were also known at one time as the Whites, and it is entirely possible that they had a player of that name. Couldn't be bothered to look it up though!

Presumably wankers playing for Man Utd doesn't count for the purposes of this thread?

While many Palace fans regard this match in 1905 as our very first the match itself contained a couple of firsts of its own.

The first penalty to be awarded under the new rule where a goalkeeper had to stay on his line.

Sadly also the first team to miss under the rule change albeit the rebound was put away.

Also at the match is the first time the Palace enthusiasts were reported trying out a few chants !.

Up the Crystallions !

I expect we’ll cope, Liverpool fans might be a little bit more bothered

That season (1960-61) we beat the record twice - 36,478 against Peterborough United and to be precis 37,774 against Millwall. Typically we lost both games 2-0.

We also had the highest average league attendance of 19,092. To put that into perspective the average League Two attendance last season was 4,468.

Wasn't that record wider than just the Football League - was it even a world record? - and not broken until Rangers played in the 4th tier a few years ago?

It's the little things that worry me. Leeds only became the Whites after Revie took over. He changed the kit to all white in 1961 or 62. They were the Peacocks based on the kit they wore until then. It was a colourful kit either in stripes or half of blue and yellow. You will be pleased to know I am so bored I checked there was no White playing for Leeds at that time.
So Leeds were not even the Peacocks when Peacock played for them. Just a Corona Virus I need something to do reply.....

If Palace ever open a museum or Hall of Fame, this post needs to be in it.

"CRYSTALLIONS"

(Still trying to work out which tune this was chanted to or was it just belted out as a shout?)

I know this is a bit oddball but were we the only ever club to use a modified car with spikey wheels on the pitch? Fiat 500/VW beetle?

Devised by our dear loyal groundsman Len Chatterton. Certainly something to witness, and clearly unique.

11 - Damien Delaney’s appearance for @CPFC against Tottenham in August 2013 came 11 years and 155 days since his previous Premier League game for Leicester City in March 2002 – a record gap between Premier League appearances by any player. Awaited. #OptaPLSeasons

Palace's fastest ever hatrick was scored by a defender (see above)
