I can’t read anymore Reacher books. Loved them when they first came out and must have read at least 10. But they are so alike now, they all merge into one. Would rather re read some of the original ones like The Killing Floor

That's on my list. I loved the Dark Materials trilogy.

But I have 18 Master and Commander books to go now.

Reading The Night Fire at the moment. Really enjoying it. Michael Connelly incorporating Bosch, Ballard and Haller would always be a winner for me.
Agree, and I also think Woksop made a good point about Reacher books. Time Lee Child took a break or learn from Michael Connelly how to write better over time

Yes, I meant one of his previous books when it was released. Don’t recall the name. I got half way through and gave up because it felt like I’d read it before.

I suppose it’s somewhat the same with any long running series but LC does seem to churn out Reacher books a little to readily.

I’m a huge fan of James Lee Burke and especially his Roberchioux series but he brings one out every couple of years, not every 8 months like LC does with Reacher.

Each to their own and all that

On paper- The Long Earth by Terry Pratchett & Stephen Baxter.
Especially looking forward to the latter one.

Oh dear.
Started this but didn't get very far. Not sure what happened but perhaps an example of two individually decent authors not being able to chemistry-ize?*
But don't let me piss on your fire. Maybe I should have stuck with it...

* which makes we wonder, can anyone think of/recommend a good book that has been written by more than one author? I'm not sure I can.

Good Omens (Pratchett & Gaiman)
The Talisman (King & Straub)

Though you may need to be a bit of a nerd to enjoy them

On the subject of King... I'm enjoying The Institute so far.

They get better in my opinion (although the plots do get more ridiculous)

I think this is the problem with most writers these days. The pressure on them from their publishers to pump out a book a year must be pretty intense.

Can't be arsed to do the research but, having and still enjoying Reacher ( I think I'm 1 behind in the series) I reckon they were close to a year apart. That's hardly James Patterson churn. (sp?)
