I wouldn’t trust a brexiteer either. On both counts. Doesn’t mean they shouldn’t vote.

adrenalin john's point about jury service is interesting. I've thought about that too.

Boris Johnson waffling on. He just drivels out nonsense and bad sound bites.

He's more incompetent than Teresa May.

Am I? Thank you for informing me how i feel i must have been confused.

I don't think 16/17 years or EU citizens will happen unless it can be proved possible for this election. Could be a wrecking clause as it might not be possible to deliver.

Not seen anything from civil service or anyone who would be responsible for making it happen to say it could or could not be delivered. Have you?

It's amazing how people like Little Al and Gonzo are ready to be the door mat for people like BJ. Someone who despises them.

Or a Corbynite.

And yes it does mean they shouldn’t be allowed the vote unless there is a reason you have to allow them the vote, like they are legally an adult. We have to let Brexiters and Corbynites vote if they are legally adults despite their obvious issues. We don’t have to do that with people who are not legally adults.

No, but it obviously could. As said other residents already get the vote, there is already a process. It would literally just mean registering to vote.

I am trying to think of a legitimate reason as to why people with 'settled status' should not be allowed to vote in the next election, given they have very recently been granted 'settled status' and the right to permanently reside, pay tax and have conveniently recently supplied the government with their ID and home address.

Corbyn may be a bit of a twat but he is not a communist, he's a slightly left of centre socialist.

This thread may be very short lived if the tory's now pull the now amendable GE bill!

"Government is now threatening to pull the general-election bill if Labour insists on amendment to enfranchise 3.4m EU citizens. It all gets crazier" Peston

In case you missed it, if you are 16 or 17 you can join the army but you cannot be sent to a war zone until you are 18.

You can have a child at any age it is biologically possible to have a child.

You can pay tax at any age.

Honestly whatever people think of Corbyn (I'm positive but with criticisms), you hear him speak now compared to that arrogant, self serving buffoon DePeiffel Johnson, and how can anyone vote Tory.

They have destroyed large parts of this country and will continue to do so.
