The single thing wrong with the system is that points from ticket purchases should be separate to points for other types of expenditure. And thus ticket priority would be based solely on ticket points. The commercial points could be used for those promotions - get money off a top etc. Easy enough to do.

There would still be the odd debate about how points should fall off (to allow newer people to get a sniff) or how much certain games should attract. But that is minor stuff.

The way they're distributed is completely jank. You get more points for buying a couple of rounds at the red and blue bar than you do from an away day up in Liverpool or Manchester. That single change a few years ago ****ed off a lot of people.

Are northern away games normally easy to get tickets for if you just have a standard membership and not many loyalty points? Do they normally sell out to season ticket holders/members with high points?

Will be in the NW area next season and not sure the best way to ensure i can get 2 tickets for games in Manchester, LIverpool, Burnley etc.

Thanks. I was more interested in general for next season. Do the games in Manchester, Liverpool normally get to the stage where tickets are still available to members with not many loyalty points?

Oh ok - sorry. Yes, you can nearly always get tickets for those games with just a membership.

It doesn't matter what system is in place someone will not like it or it won't suit their personal needs.
The system is currently fine and rewards supporters who spend money into the club, which benefits the club.
You say your idea is easy enough to do but how would the club benefit from such a plan ?

I didn't realise the scheme was for the 'benefit' of the club. Na´ve me, thinking it was to merely prioritise loyal fans for certain tickets.....Yes, it's an easy scheme. Other clubs use it. But if you think someone buying a duvet is good reason to get earlier access to an away ticket for instance, fair dos.

20 points for attending "glamour" away games at Liverpool or Man Utd away or Tottenham at home in the cup, but buy a home ticket v Grimsby or Doncaster and get 40 points!

Makes no sense to me how that is fair.

4 pints at half time will get you the same points as travelling to Liverpool, that is just plain daft imo

So you don't believe we should, as a club, be trying to make more than just the tv money ? Fair enough, as long as you don't expect us to improve and compete with bigger clubs who get more tv money than us 👍

Buying a duvet is more financially loyal to the club than travelling to Liverpool and you know it is Some people pretend that it's related to loyalty in the support sense when they know it's supporting in the financial sense.

It's weird that this is on a thread for Burnley away, it's not like you won't get a ticket is it ? Buy one on the day unless you're not going ?

I think you're looking at this in a very bizarre way. The club is not a business in the same way that Tescos is. If Tesco ever ended upin administration, then the only people that would care would be the staff. No one outside of those would organise protests at banks or at the business headquarters. Businesses have customers, whereas football clubs have fans - there is a difference between the two.
