**** me how much was that coloured chain, might be worth it just to encourage me to clean the chain more often to admire the red..

Reminds me got get the Cannondale in to GB cycles left it up in the air with the warranty been a pain at work for the last 2-3 months.

Didn't ride today based on the BBC and have to say they were right - swirling wind here entertaining listening and watching the planes coming in to land though. Not one abort they are blood impressive when they give it welly to get back up again

I went out yesterday and wind was bearable. Today would have been no go.

Yeah it's all going on the red n black tcr, along with the new wheels

X11 dlc chain is about £90 retail, been trying to blag a free one off my suppliers for ages to no avail, so had to buy one.

Old cassette isn't actually worn out, just being upgraded and will be fitted to a steel audax bike in the long run along with the rest of the 5700 group I'll have spare

£90 for chain is a bit rich for me, still should last a few years on your bike Spunky...

On the subject of colour co-ordinated bling, I'm thinking of getting these to go with the new black and orange machine Duncan is currently building for me. Completely pointless - token is entirely appropriate as a brand name - but I want them.

What are the crank lengths on yours? Keep meaning to ask you how I find out mine, they look really long.

i've just gone from 172.5 down to 170, apparently there is a movement towards shorter cranks from elite riders,

If you look on the back of the crank where the pedal bolts in there size is printed, i'd expect 172.5 in yours

Going back to the spring sportives discussion, I was thinking of having a crack at the Evans Woking one on the 3rd of April.

I'm 5'6" and use 165s. Takes a fair bit of getting used to - might go back to 170s eventually, I think 165s don't quite work with most frames.

All finished, full ultegra group and the new wheels, weighs a none too shabby 7.78 kg with pedals cages and garmin mount,

Looked around on there and couldn't find the climbing. Is it just me that finds a ride with 2500-4500ft of climbing doesn't look like something I would want to pay to do and doesn't feel like much fun?

Never done one, but these are on open roads, are the stops, directions and a mass of other cyclists worth it? Compared to say downloading the GPX and just doing it with a pub/café stops?
