I think rather than being greedy, he simply didn't look up. He took his time to get Fabianski to commit himself. That worked beautifully; however, in doing so he slightly unbalanced himself and therefore skewed his chip onto the post.

It was a very bad miss, but far from the worse we've seen at Selhurst in recent years (from ourselves or the opposition).

One turn too many, had keeper on floor off balance had to go for the largest part of the goal , with two palace players coming in .

Basic coaching, hit across the keeper so if he gets to it, it spills out in front of the goal. He's not good enough to be "giving him the eyes".

I thought that. The other way around I’d be ******* raging

Imagine keeper saves it and one of them just follows up with defenders long since given up. You’d be furious

Fabianski had saved well in the first half from McArthur and Benteke with shots across him. I think that was in McArthur's mind. But the outcome does suggest your final sentence is right!

Yep. It was up to someone else to run into the box and follow up Benteke’s shot. Benteke’s did everything right.

McArthur's miss on Saturday was nowhere near as bad as Tony Finnigan's circa 1985. Not sure who it was against (Shrewsbury, I think). Ball crossed from the right and Finnigan somehow managed to scope it over the crossbar at the far post from around a couple of yards out. Right in front of the Holmesdale.

He missed a bad one at Hudersfield as well, but for all the 'General' supporters out there sorry but just on general play not chances missed he has to be on the subs bench.
he isn't as good as Meyer period and Luka is our captain so midfield has to be
Kouyate Meyer Miliovejic in a three!!!

Sadly, Meyer hasn't been the player we thought he would be - he has that touch of class that we lack in the middle of the park. Hopefully, Meyer will get acclimatised to the Premier League - if he does, he will make the other two midfielders he plays alongside look better.
I don't agree at all. It feels like you are basing it on rep with the likes of Cabaye etc. McArthur until recently has been one of the better passers, most likely to score and good all-round technical players. He's not fashionable, which in part I think is because he is Scottish.

However, I do feel he's maybe on the wane/decline. I hope I'm wrong and it is merely a spell of form.

Anyone who thinks james is only a workhorse look at our second goal
James has technical ability otherwise he would not have played season after season in the premier league

Apart from Wilf our best player since he signed in 2014. Some of the comments about him recently are pathetic.

I thought he was poor for the 1st half when he played more to the right(him and Ward were a bad combination), in the 2nd he seemed to play more on the left and was better. He had 2 assists today, but really only the 2nd can be called an assist as the first was a poor shot going wide.

He's been brilliant, one of the few midfield players who can combine a massive amount of defensive work with really good forward runs. He's not a natural dribbler, but is very clever with feints and turns, and links up the front players pretty well. Also doesn't appear to have a big ego on him which is a good thing for team spirit, he just comes in and does a great job, week after week.

People need to remember if he was 'practically perfect in every way', he wouldn't be playing for us

RLC would be a great player if he could combine Macca's defensive work with his own core strengths going forward

He's really underrated. Even the first goal - look at how finds that space.

This.

Every manager picks him. Trouble is for too many of our arm chair fans his name isnt Max Mayer. If that was Mayer yesterday people would be wanking themselves silly and thinking him 10 out of 10s.

Did very well last night after a few bad performances. That bit of skill and cross for Wilf’s first was pure quality
