You just know he’ll drop Benteke for Wilf and play Ayew up front on his own.

He is on all the games but is never actually there. He prerecords sound clips during the week and someone just presses a button during the games.

As long as its not frivolous they won't add another game. Surely there's enough evidence out there to prove that it was the calculated and repeated fouling of him by several Southampton players, and the complete lack of action by the ref, to make it a perfectly reasonable challenge to the ban on the grounds of excessive intimidation?

Additionally by proving the complete inconsistency of referees across different matches, and the totally seemingly random approach by the FA into when and who they decide to charge with "bringing the game into disrepute" will again make this appeal valid, and will raise the question as to why Wilf has been picked out when others (in the same week and illustrated repeatedly across the tv) have not even been spoken to.

If we didn't appeal he is banned for tomorrow.

If he wins the appeal he is available tomorrow for Donny and for Leicester

If he loses the appeal then he loses Doncaster, me may also miss Leicester if they add a game to it.

The only way he avoids missing a PL game is by appealing (so available tomorrow) and either winning that appeal or losing it with no further punishment.

Even if he has a game added, which game wold you class as more important? Home to West Ham or away to Leicester? Was definitely the right call to make.

You seem to have ignored in your post that he is available tomorrow.

Can he decide to change his mind about appealing after tomorrows game and just miss Doncaster?

Thought he had seven days to decide, so could have accepted it after the Hammers game and taken the hit at Doncaster. Maybe the barister has seen or heard something that he thinks may justify the appeal.

RH: We have appealed and as a result the FA have suspended the ban. We find out if they uphold the ban or we have been successful next week. Zaha is available to play tomorrow.

RH: Michy's settled in very well, surprisingly well! We have players who knew him already and many who speak French. So he's bonded quickly, not just with that group but with every body at the club.

RH: I have a lot of respect for what Pellegrini's done in the game, he has a fantastic CV. I'm delighted to hear he has kind words to say about me. I would like to think that we have a very good relationship.

RH: It was a good game [last time we met]. I think the margins are often very small when teams in a similar position meet - they are very tight, hard-fought games.

RH: In the last few weeks our goalscoring record has not been that bad at all. We're putting that right and it's good to have so many players who can come on to the field and score a goal, maybe the winning goal.

RH: We're very lucky that we have two very, very good options at centre half in Martin Kelly and Scott Dann. They're two players I can call upon to come in and do the job.

That's it from the boss. The full video will be online shortly! Official #CPFC app To view the link you have to Register or Login

I think the point is he could play tomorrow by simply using his right to consider making an appeal.

He can then decide not to appeal next week and miss Doncaster.

By appealing he runs the risk of missing the Leicester game. That is why it seems a strange decision to appeal now before he needs to.

I donít think there any chance of the ban being increased even if he lost it,.

Because he is only appealing the sanction, not the charge, so how could that be frivolous?

Injury news

Well Kouyate still hasn't recovered so he's not available. Julian Speroni unfortunately picked up a minor injury a couple of days ago so he wasn't available for selection.

Pape Souare has been injured for a while now as has Connor Wickham and the other injury news is unfortunately for us is James Tomkins.

He's been struggling all week with a calf strain that we were hoping would clear up in time for him to be available to play, but that does not look like it will be the case."

Zaha situation

We've appealed and as a result of that the FA have suspended the ban that he was given at the tribunal that I attended with him the other day so we will have to wait and see whether than ban is upheld or whether we're successful with our appeal.

We won't know that until probably some time next week, but it does mean he's available tomorrow because the FA have suspended the ban until such time until the appeal is heard.

Was this discussed in terms of which games you prefer to lose him for?

No, it's got nothing to do with it at all. It was quite simply a case of we believe that a one-match ban which he's already served for being sent off was more than sufficient punishment for the event that took place and we made that clear at the commission.

But the commission decided that they thought a further one-match ban was justified which of course we as a club and our lawyer contested and as a result the contestation will lead to a second hearing where we hope of course that further one-match ban that hangs over Wilfried's head will be crushed.

How has Zaha reacted?

Well, it's pretty obvious. It's not nice to be sent-off ever and you're always disappointed both in yourself and in the referee's decision. Whenever you're sent-off there's not that many people who hold their hand up and applaud they're happy it happened so obviously he's upset about it.

We had the chance to answer the charge. We were treated very fairly, we put our case to them and the lawyer we have believes that we have the right to appeal and justified in making an appeal so we know wait and see what effect that has, whether or not we can get that extra game lifted which of course we would like to get lifted because we need him in the games.

How has Michy Batshuayi been this week?

He's settled in very well, surprisingly well. But we're lucky that we have a lot of players who know him and speak French like he does and he's bonded very quickly with our players, not just that group but the others too.

In training he's shown what qualities and skills he has and that's important when you come to a new club as a player. Obviously you get brought to a club because you've been convinced the manager and the coaches that you're the right man for the team and you also need to convince your fellow players.

It's been a good week's training.

Relationship with Chelsea

I don't remember that I referred in particular to my contacts with Chelsea, I probably would have been more thinking in the terms of the Chairman Steve Parish who seems to have a good relationship with Marina over there and they have a good dialogue.

I'd like to think my relationship with Chelsea is a good one too. I'd like to think they know that any players they loan to us are treated properly and come back at least as good as they were when they left.

In Ruben's case he came back a stronger player. I think those factors exist and deserve to be mentioned, but I wouldn't like myself to take on the role of having some special relationship which gives me an in to Chelsea players that nobody else has.

Palace's financial power

Difficult question for me to answer, but I feel very comfortable with the club and the way the club views our situation in their realistic and pragmatic approach. We realise in these last couple of seasons since actually spending big money that's had to be curtailed, we've had to accept that extra big money hasn't been available.

I don't get the feeling in anyway that people haven't been appreciative of the fact we are working very hard with the resources we have and in my opinion it's a big mistake to start thinking too much in terms of what money other clubs have spent.

It's all a question really of how that money turns out to have been spent. I.e; have you identified the right player? Has the player you've identified come in and made a big difference to your team and as a result can congratulate yourself on having spent money wisely and improving the team?

As we all know it's no means a given. I don't think there's any people involved in transfers that would believe they can get a guarantee of if we spent x amount of money that we would be that much better.

It's always a bit of a shot in the dark. I'm happy with the group we've got and the way they work together.

I think the two signings we made - albeit one loan and one free transfer - are capable of making us better, so it's about players for me and not how much they cost.

Relationship with Pellegrini?

He's someone I'd be more than happy to know better than I know him. Right from the very first moment when I was England manager and he arrived I felt there was an empathy between us.

I have a lot of respect for what he's done in the game, it's a fantastic CV that he puts on the table.

I'm delighted to hear his opinion of myself and certainly his assistance - if you like - with regard to Man City players playing for England was always first-class. There was never any suggestions from his side that players should possibly be spared in friendly matches for example, he was always happy to send them.

I would like to think we have a very good relationship and I certainly have a lot of respect for him.

West Ham test

We always prepare for the very best XI and he's got some very good players. If that is a problem then it's not for me to talk about.

That's a problem they are trying to come to terms with. I'll make the point he's only been there a short period of time and sometimes to get that level of consistency and to get the team doing exactly what he would like to see them doing week after week takes a bit more time.

But we know what a good team they are, we know how many good players they have both on their books and on the field at the moment and also of course we are fresh from seeing them play Liverpool on Monday night and play extremely well.

We're preparing for the very best West Ham that exists and hopefully we can be the best Crystal Palace we can be, that's as simple as it gets sometimes.
