FOR FOOTBALL REASONS, I would love to see Tranmere or Millwall in the final.

Just imagine if they got there and draw one of the turkish sides that could be 'fun'

Arsenal have approached the FA with a request to switch the FA Cup semi-final with Manchester United to Cardiff's Millennium Stadium.

The FA have already discussed the idea and will do so again on Tuesday, but with objections expected from opponents Manchester United and both teams in the other semi-final, it is unlikely to get the go ahead. The other semi-finalists Sunderland and their opponents Tranmere or Millwall believe it is unfair for two clubs to get a pre-final feel of the venue while United are thought to prefer the shorter trip to Villa Park.

Highbury officials are keen for the Cup tie to be staged at the 72,000-seater stadium in Cardiff especially after it was revealed that the rail network plan major line works at Milton Keynes on April 4 meaning major delays for Gunners fans travelling to Villa Park.

Although Arsenal may not be successful in attempts to switch venues they may have better luck in moving the date of the match. Both the Gunners and United would rather the game be played on Saturday April 3 as both teams could have Champions League matches the week after - possibly against each other.

If the semi-final is brought forward to the Saturday it will have a 12.30 kick-off because it is Grand National day.
