Correct, the two clubs are disputing when that official change took place, if at all

In the meantime have Nantes been looking after the player's financial responsibilities at all?

He wouldnt have been on the plane if it werent for Cardiff and the paperwork was signed. They are looking for a loophole to wriggle out of it. Yes itís business but it shows you how ruthless it is, this magnified by the faux affectation of Ďforever a bluebirdí

You can justify it if you wish, I find it sickening.

Yogi was crocked before he left. Palace pulled a fast one and had to cough up about 15 grand.

So he wasn't their player yet they were coming out with the forever a bluebird bollocks on the anniversary of his death, and now they want to try and sue Nantes.

Seriously ****ed up club!

Rather than wrangle over it I think the most dignified way would of been to split it 50/50.

If the fee was £15 Million Cardiff pay £7.5 Million and just say that it is a very unfortunate set of circumstances. If the player was insured then they could try to re-coup some funds from the insurer.

Just makes it a bit distasteful after all the kind words.

In mitigation, it's hard to believe that Cardiff would be so crass without a genuine case and genuine grievances. Although then again this is modern football, so maybe they are just that crass. They're probably still upset they don't get their red cards reviewed by a panel of "impartial" Welshmen.

I don't get how they can say he wasn't their player. Why would he be flying back to train with them the next day if he wasn't? They, the club said that, the club also said they were hoping to have him in the squad for that weekends game.

I am. As a club we have done a few naughty things that people have still defended. Not to the same scale involving the amount involved in this transfer, but we had volunteers repair and clean the memorial garden, the disabled section moved somewhere utterly inadequate because it was an afterthought, and single ticket pricing go utterly bonkers. All has been defended by some sycophants on here, and I have no doubt that they would defend this sort of stuff too.

They are looking for loopholes, trying to wriggle out of payment. Had Cardiff not demanded him present he would have not been on that plane, it is as simple as that. They are responsible even if they find a legal loophole.

I really hope this turns out to be negative equity in face if their public image, they may save £15m but lose the former. I wish there were people openly criticising them in the media; they seem to be getting a free ride.

One or two people would try and support it I'm sure but the reaction of quite a few would be the same - remember when SJ stiffed St Johns ambulance.

This appears to be a blatant attempt to influence the Court of Arbitration and feeling generally. As any plane seems to have been organised from the UK end I am not sure what they are trying to do anyway other than to muddy the waters.

The Bluebirds have refused to pay a £15m transfer fee to the French club and said "sufficient evidence of wrongdoing" has been found.

What does this mean? Are they making this up?

The contract surely is a question of business. There must be a date on the contract and was it signed?
