Why is it that the relegated clubs find it so hard to get straight back up to the Prem?

Probably due to their better players leaving and others thinking they are too good for Championship . It isn't easy but 2/3 of teams are mediocre at best .

Christ in the 40 odd years I've been watching Palace this is some of the best football we've ever played. Midtable Premier league mediocrity used to be a pipedream. We are a small Prem side, realistically it's not likely to get much better than this!

Give up man do yourself a favour and go and watch Spurs or something.

I haven't seen it again yet, but it was definitely Schlupp. I can't quite remember what happened after to better describe it. PVA played better than last week but some of his passes in his favourite push and runs tactic were way off target.

I donít know the exact stats, but itís interesting that the most successful managers in Prem of lower league teams are those that are relentlessly focused on shape over style. Allardyce, Pulis, Hodgson, even Howe. As we learned under Pardew...being open and entertaining can get you 30 points by Christmas, it can also get you 10 points in the second half of a season.

Given what Hodgson is trying to achieve, which is to be all but safe by the end of March, I think he is approaching it the right way.

Roy got the starting 11 right for me, likewise the subs. I'm very happy.
Well, we won 2-0, but to say Norwich did very little is wide of the mark

They had 3 or 4 very good chances, at Least two of which should have resulted in goals, fortunately the best ones fell to Cantwell, who can't finish. They also seemed to be able to pass through us comfortably, something we can't do.

Result was good but the performance not so much, and the lack of movement off the ball at times was really poor

Nice to be unbeaten at home, though frustratingly it really should have been 4 wins, not 2

Passed through us? They kept putting the ball out for throw ins precisely because they couldnít break us down. They mustered up one or two decent chances at best. It was pretty comfortable.

Nothing comfortable about being 1-0 up in injury time, and Norwich having missed at least two chances they should have scored from

Last 3 games at home, major incidents in injury time, just that this time we managed to strike the killer blow instead of coming unstuck, but it wouldn't have been that much of a shock if Norwich had equalised

Cant argue with that. The new stand is the one thing that could give us a chance to push on.

Norwich were dangerous and unlucky not to score in their purple patch between 25 mins to 45 mins.

You can see how they have scored a lot of goals but were fairly open at the back and have shipped quite a few goals. Quite an entertaining team to watch but may struggle to stay up.

Thought our performance was good apart from the spell before Half Time. Relieved to get the win as we have made a mess of such games in the past Sunderland 0-4 being a prime example!

Nearly every team in every match misses chances they should have scored from.

I've just watched the extended highlights and Meyer's ball down the line that Wilf then holds and plays to Andros for the goal is first class. His turn takes out three Norwich players and credit to Wilf for his determination to win and hold the ball and then drive into the Norwich box.
I like to see Meyer in the staring line up if Roy can find away.

Not sure if Meyer is too happy at the moment. Didnt even celebrate or move a muscle when Townsends goal went in. The game was crying out for him in the first half. Whilst Norwich moved the ball quite well and you could see how they score, they were very open centrally and the amount of turnover of possession in the middle thirds was more than I can ever remember. Unfortunately with our middle three and Schlupp (who was poor) couldnt spring any kind of attack or link up lay with Ayew.

Also, despite all the formations, we are at our attacking best when we open a game up and almost risk conceding at the other end. When we try and stifle out opponents we end up stifling ourselves too. Our fans at home are also far more suited to this style
