Top 40 albums of the 21st Century

Maybe a fairly predictable list, but mostly bland and uninspiring.

‘Top’ in terms of sales as opposed to ‘Best’.

But admittedly, I’m grasping at straws. It’s a load of old shite. Dido, Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, James Blunt. Ye Gads.

That’s just a load of pop shite. Nothing in the 21st century comes close to Kid A by Radiohead, it’s the clear number 1 for me. Yet it doesn’t even make the list. No early the Strokes, no artic monkeys first album, no White Stripes and no rap outside of one Eminem pick, when Jay Z, Kendrick Lamar, Outkast and Kanye produced at least one fantastic album each.

Oh, I thought it was an opinion list

Still depressing though that that’s the crap that gets sales.

I think Adele is a genuine talent and one of the better artists on the list, but Jay Z’s the Blueprint and Kendrick’s Damn on a par with that boring twat Ed Sheeran? Cmon.

Yep...thank God it says

“To mark the occasion, Official Charts is revealing the UK's Top 40 biggest studios albums of the 21st Century. The chart, which aired asa special Pick of the Pops on BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds between 1pm - 3pm, is based on physical sales, downloads and streams since January 1 2000”

Just goes to show how much I hate the general public.
