One of the shittiest things I ever witnessed at a football match. I was also at Highbury for John Barnes’s debut, when the Liverpool fans threw bananas at him.

I remember that scum at the Tooting & Mitcham game in 1975 and at Stamford Bridge later that season in the FAC.

Oh man, the football at my daughter's school is run by Chelsea. Sending her to that really challenged me as a man. The last session was today. They sent her home with a Chelsea magazine and other related paraphernalia. Felt all evening like I am going to puke.

Some of our more challenged fans need to realise you don’t get extra points for beating the filth...

I like rivalry, but I cant be bothered to hate any other club on a long term basis. I like to see Manu and Liverpool lose, but not that bothered if they don't. Don't give a damn whether Brighton win or lose

Roy could end up taking over from Sir Steve as our greatest ever manager.

Will be a big week in terms of what Southampton and Everton do managerial wise. Gives Roy a strong bargaining tool for having funds available in January knowing other clubs will
be looking at Roy.
He’s doing a extraordinarily good job in very, very difficult circumstances.

I went to the Spurs game the other week with a Spurs fan, he remarked to me after the game that he assumed I wouldn't be too concerned about the outcome because Palace have a remarkable ability to simply shrug off a bad result / performance and get something out of their next fixtures. Of course this came to pass with 4 points from the two games against Wolves and Norwich, but I had never really considered it before he mentioned it.

Since Roy's arrival in the middle of that 7 game horror run, I can recall us ever having even three bad results in a row. We have a knack of picking up points on a regular basis. This is a reflection of having an experienced and pragmatic manager, and also I guess a benefit of having a mature squad which has seen it all before - although I understand the concerns about how 'mature' can tip over into 'ageing' if we aren't careful.

Yes very true rather than someone like Pardew who could get on runs of losses or wins.

Considering the resources he has had to work Roy has done a brilliant job and run a very steady ship and even when Dramas have occurred like the Zaha speculation/Benteke penalty overrule and miss just keeps calm and deals with things as they come along.
