Edit - apologies, just checked - Lords did it yesterday too.
The lords did it before the commons, which I thought was weird!!

They did. But technically, they didn't. Having debated and agreed to it, they then adjourned until 9.30pm (without actually doing anything at 9.30) so that they completed it after the Commons.

Quick question as you seem to be a bit of expert in parliament affairs....If for any reason HOC agree a deal, would this needs to be ratified by HOL?

I mean to say can HOL reject a deal for Brexit agreed by HOC and we could technically be in square one..

Theoretically, yes, the HOL could reject a deal agreed by the HoC. And there would also be legislation that would need to go through both Houses of Parliament. But, in reality, the House of Lords would not block in this sort of situation (though they might seek to amend the legislation); convention has it that it's role is to advise the Commons rather than block it. This was (almost) tested to extremis when the Withdrawal Bill was debated.

Edit: having now looked at the Act, I think they may just debate and 'take note' of the motion, rather than approve it. So no, they can't block that. But there also needs to be legislation, which does have to go through both Houses, so my main point stands.

I'm looking forward to my first post-Brexit kebab. A lump of chlorinated chicken in a good old fashioned British bap. And none of that chilli sauce muck, Daddy's HP all the way.

I seem to remember two years ago there were various BBS bets about whether or not the UK would brexit today. There should be a few quid going to charity.
