Our most solid midfielder defensively imo, and our best midfield ball carrier. Can also fill in well at centre back. None of our midfielders are indispensable by any means, but I think Kouyate is our first or second most valuable, depending on how highly you rate Luka at this point.

As long as we have plans to replace him with another two defensive midfielders and perhaps a crocked centre back or two then I wouldn't be against this.

Good player but if we could sell a defensive midfielder to bring in a more creative player, then happy days.

Ha, I agree, but I also like him. He has grown on me the longer he has been here. The issue in midfield is that he plays with 2 other eqaully average attacking players. We don't need the whole midfield to be creative and a goal threat, just some of them. He can also genuinely play in 2 positions. We are never going to have a huge sqaud so it's important we have a few players that can play more than one position effectively to cover for the small squad.

Does his job well, costs us peanuts, loads of experience, he’s a professional, what’s not to like?

I think his best position is CB where he plays for his country. As others have said his passing isn’t the best so he struggles to really influence games in midfield. Wouldn’t sell him as he’s a decent player for the squad. There are lots of players higher on the priority list to sell in my opinion.

[QUOTE=bubbs11;15330366]Here’s a little short list of the players West Ham are linked with this window:

I did'nt think I'd list all those names again, but it seems they aren't being linked with Eberechi Eze after all, in spite of the rumours
