If Sakho goes then he'll be needed at CB. Bringing in one or more more creative\dynamic box to box midfielders would help our midfield no end. We have one defensively minded midfield player too many. One of Luka, Jimmy1, Jimmy2, Cheick, Jairo or Max needs to go. By moving Sakho on we solve the problem by pushing Cheick back into his role.

Have to agree.

Part of the most poor/average midfield we have had for some time.

Any of the 'first choices' can go as far as I'm concerned

Yes but besides not being able to pass, what else do we want in a Palace player?
He is a very average premiership player who does a job. Won’t ever see him hit a really good long pass like McCarthy can. As for this story, kind of shite by the twatter generation

Kouyate enables us to get Sakho off our books with minimal risk. I'd like to see Meyer go too. That's over £200K per week saved, along with Sakho. Kouyate is a bargain on stilts, considering what we paid, his wages and his versatility. It would be madness to sell him.

Would be interesting if Moyes and Kouyate discussed potential position if there is any truth in this rumour.

They may see Kouyate as a cheap CB - cheaper than Stones who they have been linked with at £20m.

Personally I think CB is a better position for him than midfield and whilst we have an abundance of CB's, I would be inclined to keep him for his versatility and move on Sakho, Meyer, Jairo and McCarthy before shipping out Kouyate.

Cheaper than Stones, and better than Stones.

He's a decent centre back, but just an athlete in midfield.

It's true he's a terrible passer of the ball, but he's such a handy squad player. Good at CB, strong, quick and all over the park.

Ideally you'd have 3 players in midfield with more quality on the ball, but having him as an option is a huge addition since he joined.

The tweet suggests we are not interested anyway. We've just got Soucek so we won't have any dosh for another midfielder and have other priorities (Defence LB RB and CB) plus a striker. Koyate was very good for us and then towards the end of his spell, the game seemed to pass him by.

I will be surprised if Sakho leaves to he honest. Injured again, huge wages. Hard to see many takers.
