The club are working with the CPFC DSA on the provision of disabled facilities in the Main Stand Redevelopment and have involved us from an early stage and this is why I believe in their plans and they are are serious about the project being built once the current hurdles delaying the project are cleared.

The delays are not down to the club.

Oh and for anyone who thinks CPO's are the easy option you may want to take a quick look at this article

- I don't suggest you read it (I didn't) - just looks at the flow charts. And then remember this is the third article dealing with the last part of CPO.

However one thing I did spot while having a brief skim of some articles is that there has to be proof that there is funding in place for the scheme to go ahead in the short term. It will be interesting if the club go down a CPO route with the Council as that will need to be provided in a public enquiry
Are you sure about that? As i understood it Bloye sold the leasehold of the Whitehorse end to Sainsburys in 1977 but then Noades sold the freehold in 1981 not long after he bought the club.

I dont know where this fitted in with the houses that were also built and Bloye deserves the vast majority of the blame for selling the club down the drain (just as the youth team was flourishing ). The whole thing seemed a real mess and I guess Noades was forced to sell the freehold through our desperate position, but he shouldnt escape blame as he still made a lot of money out of us.

Interesting stuff re the CPO. Even if it was valued at 50% above market rates, surely that small area wouldn't be worth £5m? How would a public enquiry be set up? Sounds expensive and painful. Sainsburys is an amenity to the local community so wouldnt be straightforward either.

A multi-storey carpark couldve been the answer, similar to the one in Wallington, but seems very unlikely now.

They have the sense to work with their council plus a developer, so it's a win-win-win for all 3 parties.

CPFC could do similar with Sainsburys and a developer, some homes on the car park might make things happen?

Looking forward to the main stand's 100th birthday. Doesn't happen elsewhere, ever, even at supposed cash strapped shithouse clubs.

Spurs' new ground has a new Sainsburys built at one end, and they are building several blocks of apartments at the other end. It's called having a masterplan

When Palace did the pre app for the main stand, the council called for a master plan for the whole campus, c!ub didn't want to do that, think they thought it'd take too long lol. Would have made everything easier in the long run.

Meanwhile the Sainsburys at the ground is 50% full of a load of (non-food) old tat, and the club are stuck in limbo.

They could potentially nick either fans or sponsors if they get it sorted first.

Last year by chance I met someone who had an important role in the design of the new stand. He suggested it was unlikely the stand would be built in the next few years because the club wanted to micro-manage the whole project and wasn't willing to trust anyone who had experience of delivering this type of project at other clubs. At the time I thought he might have been exaggerating but it seems that this could be one plausible explanation of the lack of progress.
