Personally I think there's merit in throwing them in the deep end and seeing how they get on. Worked for the likes of Rashford, Alli and even Leko at West Brom. I think players that adapt and learn the quickest end up being the best.

Scored a screamer apparently. Want to see him get a chance somepoint in the future, rare for us to have a midfielder with actual vision and long range passing

Isn't that what Jonny Williams was meant to be?

With our thread bare squad we need to try youth.

They are hungry and fearless.

Would love to see Dreyer, kai kai, Anderson and Boateng on the bench sat.

This might be the best idea possible. See who can contribute early while they have a few weeks to sort out loans/purchases. If KaiKai can contribute, let him. Same with Anderson, Lapdo, Dreyer, etc.

Sure it's a lot of pressure to perform but you know what, sometimes it's the best way to see if they can measure up at this level this year or if they truly need a loan and then re-evaluate in Jan or next summer.

'Dreher' - his name is in the title of the thread, how can two of you in a row misspell it, just lazy. Got to nip it in the bud especially with a youth player, otherwise another Bolaise/Parrish/Pullis/Marriappa/Sakho fukup.

Lapdo?, sounds like an International Superstar Soccer 64 fake-namesake.

See what posting at work while distracted gets you. Player name misspellings. If players could just stick to regular old English names like Smith, Jones, and Williams, the world would be much easier for me.

Totally agree with that. Sometimes this insistence from certain managers to hold them back like they might break in half or something is frustrating. Peter Taylor was a classic case of this and Warnock was such a breath of fresh air in comparison. If it was left to Taylor, Nat Clyne would probably still be 'not quite ready' for his debut yet!

Clyne is a classic example of why throwing them in sometimes pays big dividends. He wasn't that highly rated in our academy; in fact I think I'm right in saying it wasn't that long before his debut where he struggled to hold down a place in the academy side. But from that very first game he just looked the real deal.

Of course it's a lot easier to risk playing youngsters when you're a Championship side, as at Premier League level you can properly get your pants pulled down if you show any weaknesses; but still think in the right game and moment, we should be testing out some of these kids just in case we might have a golden nugget on our hands.

Here's the goal...To view the link you have to Register or Login

Good touch to take it away from the defender and blasted into the goal despite the best efforts of the defenders trying to get a block in. Look forward to seeing more of this young lad!

That he has been heavily involved in pre-season and that we have some knocks- and players coming back late from the Euro's , he could well be on the bench come Saturday.
