A great achievement to LH, but it has no impact on me. You go on and do your stuff, but I have no allegiance to being 'British', whilst someone in a privileged position moans about the alleged racism that has not impacted his career at all.

Great driver. Muppet role model.

In fact tell HMRC why you moved your residence to Monaco many years ago. You are a tool.
Today should have cheered you up.

Congratulations to Lewis - I am running out of superlatives.

Absorbing qualifying and race. I think they should polish the surface at every track !

Felt rather sorry for Stroll. Built an impressive lead and then couldn't get his last set of tyres to work. Yes, he has a lot still to learn, but he well for so long.

Stroll was shafted by his team's rubbish decision making.
What a drive from Lewis. Dang we will miss him when he's done.
One more season to get to 100 wins and 8 championships then he'll call it a day (if he gets there), I reckon.

not sure he needed to build such a lead though, just wearing his tyres out. After the race he kept saying he couldn't understand why his tyres were graining so much compared to Perez. He just isn't as good (or experienced) yet on managing his tyres. How many times do you see Lewis take the lead of a race and then just sit a couple of seconds ahead of 2nd place? I'm sure he could push if he wanted to, but knows it's ultimately pointless if the tyres hit the wall, your 10-15-20 second gap can go in a matter of laps

Well done Lewis, even without this 7th title one of the all time greats for a good while now.

Just a small point for foresthillbilly and others who question his residential status and tax contribution to the UK. The following is an extract from today's BBC coverage of Lewis and his magnificent achievement.

"David Richards, chairman of Motorsport UK, wrote to the prime minister on 11 November. "But we can now celebrate the greatest of them all and there can be no more fitting way to do this than award Lewis Hamilton a knighthood.

On Hamilton's tax status, Richards wrote that Hamilton "is subject to withholding tax at source [being taxed at source] in nine countries around the world and files tax returns in four of the nine countries" and added that HM Revenue and Customs' 2019 figures put him "within the top 5,000 highest UK income tax payers".

For me if he did not pay tax in the UK it would make no difference. His natural talent only came through thanks to his father who undertook two jobs and worked countless hours to earn enough money to get a young Lewis Karting. The money is not really important the lad is a genius and puts his life at risk every time he sits in an F1 car

I am sure that any award he gains, Lewis will be the first to acknowledge that the award is shared with the fantastic British engineers and support team at Brackley

Mansell lived in the isle of Man. All sportspersons do it (tax efficiency).

However, Hamilton's achievements are truly wonderous.

In 1987 I was training as an automotive engineer. I say engineer, because mechanics are bit-changers, but engineers solve problems. I was briefly employed by Mclaren in 1988 in Senna’s first Drivers Championship season.
I was employed at their site in a Woking Industrial estate on Albert Drive. Turbo’s were being phased-out, but the new V10 had arrived from Honda for the next season. The engineers were keen to test, so at around midnight on a Sunday night/Monday morning, they test the engine in a car park to the rear of the building, adjacent to a residential area.
The police are called, and the test session ends.
Gearbox casings. These were made of magnesium alloy for lightness. High specification stuff, but once the CNC machine was set, the machinist could go for lunch. One machinist was interrupted from his lunch due to a fire alarm sounding. He had forgotten to ensure the lubricant tank was full on his machine and the gearbox casing had caught fire. He rushed from his extended lunch-break, donned fire-proof gloves, and threw the on-fire casing out of a window into the car park at the rear of the factory. Smoke was everywhere.
Ron Dennis was fantastic. His ethos was that you wanted to make the workplace so good, you didn’t want to go home. You put the hours in, and were rewarded. In 1988 I think each worker was paid a bonus on championship points, and everyone got at least an extra £5K.
The canteen was magnificent and every Monday morning (after a race weekend) Ron Dennis would hold a de-brief for around an hour. Everyone present. Anyone could ask any question

And as a final aside, my eldest brother took me to Brands Hatch in 1986 for my first F1 grand Prix, which is how I got into engineering. Around June 1987 they had an F1 ‘Tyre test’ day at Silverstone. My brother drove us there in his Silver Datsun Cherry. It was about £4 each to get in. After the testing had finished by brother and I were driving out of the circuit, when he spies access into the paddock area. He drives in, and stops where the f1 cars are, and we get to meet Frank Williams (in his new wheelchair).
My brother then drives out of the pit lane, onto the circuit. He does a whole lap of Silerstone, before we get stopped on the second lap by a marshall on Abbey Curve. “fork orf now, or I’ll call the police”, or words to that effect. We left.
And I was in the track invasion in 1987 on Abbey Curve. Then they put the fences up. 

And the reason I didn't continue at McLaren was two-fold. My line manager was 'let go' for reasons i can't elaborate on. I was also medically incapable of work.
I was offered the position of 'driver' in 1991, but unfortunately it was a van driver and I threw the offer back at them. More fool me

Confidentially Contracts restrict what I can /can't say on internet.
