Andersen's long passes are unbelievable. The accuracy and consistency of them is like nothing I've seen from CPFC, ever. He and Guehi are tantalisingly good signings.

I thought Ayew has some really good moments and a very decent game with the ball at his feet, but he can't keep Olise out of the squad for too much longer, my lord that guy looks like he could be a star from his two cameos and the u23's game the other day.

Gallagher is exactly the sort of player we need, he's very raw but he's smart and reads the game well. He's not good enough for Chelsea IMHO and debatable if he ever will be, but he could be a star here so I'd love to see us make a deal. He's got a lot of the positive aspects of McArthur about his game in terms of workrate, mixed with a prime-Puncheon's positioning/dropping of the shoulder.

Riedewald... I used to like him a lot, and thought he was underrated. But the last few months have been really poor from him. I'm not sure he's up to the pace of the Premier League, either mentally or physically, even as a sub.

When we have Hughes and Luka on the bench someone’s going to have to explain to me why we brought on Jario.

Jairo's effort on the second was pathetic tbh. Did everything right early, had touch on Salah, was goal side and then got caught ball watching. Dreadful. The first was just as bad, seeing the defenders all held their opponents off, yet McArthur and co didn't track the rest. Shocking. The third, well that was just a quality strike that is almost unstoppable. Should have closed it down stronger but even so, it was a great hit.
Other than that, i thought we played pretty well. Scoreline doesn't reflect the contest IMO.
Bring on Brighton. COYP

I believe that Jairo is seen as JM's backup, Luka as Kouyate's and Hughes as Gallagher's. Bringing Jairo on meant we continued to play the same way.

Jairo was ok when going forward but couldn't step up vs. such a good midfield.

His defending was shameful. Vieira will be observing him until the transfer window but I feel like he will lose his place on the bench to Schlupp once he returns and Jeffrey will become the cover for LB if something happens to TM.

I think JR signed a new contract last season and now has two years left on it?

Yes his performances have steadily declined since signing the new deal and his concentration is abject

That should have been a penalty for the foul on CB.

Strange decision to bring Riedewald on over Luka in particular but we were chasing the game and I assume Vieira thinks he offers more going forward than Luka or Hughes. Hoping to see Hughes soon as he’s a tidy player.

As for riedewald, I’ve been a fan of his and have been pleased to see him feature more regularly. But his defending for those two goals, particularly the first, was pathetic.

I agree. We had a lot of attacks and he was involved. He gave it away but also won it a few times. He did go to sleep on the 2nd, that was annoying, but folks are overlooking the Madley effect, who, have a free kick against Mitchell for a blatant bit of falling over my Milner. It led directly to the corner.

Didn't say he should play for us there, just that I think that is the position that would make best use of his skills. Doesn't have the energy for midfield in a prem side. Doesn't have the presence to play I'm a CB pairing. Has actually looked ok at left back before.

Jairo caught out for second. Third goal cannot see what he could have done, just a fantastic volley into the top corner. Going forward he made good passes, carried the ball through midfield and made good runs into the box. His losses in concentration are so frustrating because he could be so good.

He was initially close to Keita but got sucked into going towards the ball and then came out to close down Keita pretty timidly. Admittedly it was on Keita’s weaker foot and had he come flying at him and Keita cuts in on his right foot and curls it top corner people would be slating him too but he could have still done better.
