Plenty of reports stating that Roy Hodgson expects Wilf to honour his long term contract with Palace in spite of transfer speculation.

Where? Roy has said he’d like to keep Wilf but you never know how these things pan out.

Article yesterday quoting Roy's views on Wilf's transfer speculation.

To view the link you have to Register or Login

Roy has also backed up his views on Wilf in a SSN interview.

Until there is any concrete news everything regarding Wilf leaving Palace is pure speculation with nothing to back it up just as much of the Summer speculation was.

If he goes anywhere it'll be Chelsea. I'm happy either way so long as we get a hefty check, £70m+. He's been wonderous for us but at 27 he's at his peak and we have to look to the future.

Wilfred zaha leaves to utd to play in premierleague- palace end up getting promoted and playing in premierleague and he gets sent out on loan to cardiff

Wilfred zaha wants to leave and play euro football and requests transfer to arsenal or Everton- both teams won't be playing Europe next year

Maybe if he actually leaves WE will qualify for Europa league. The irony

Would depend on formation and team he was playing with. He has obviously played very well as a striker in a 2 under Hodgson, with Townsend, Benteke and Batshuayi. The point is he can play there, and certainly when he does play there he has shown he can score more goals. Whether that can be classed as an improvement is up for debate but attacking players will always be judged on goals/assists regardless of what they do for the team. Get Wilf higher up the pitch and he will score more goals, that's the point. That either means in a 2 for Palace or a 3 for a top team. WZ scored more in 17/18 than ever before. He then scored more in 18/19 than ever before. He's now 2 in 2 despite playing deeper for us this season. Who's to say he won't score 11 this season? I wouldn't bet against him scoring 9 more goals. The point is forward players can improve. Look at Vardy and Wright as a couple of classic examples. Wilf Zaha has NOT reached his peak yet.

Obviously I want him to stay, but failing that I'd love to see Zaha move to Man City and develop into the world class player we all know he could be. They could afford him as well! I'd love to see him in a 3 with Aguero and Sterling and see what he could do under Pep Guardiola. In the meantime let's hope he keeps banging them in for us.

Why would Chelsea buy him, they have plenty of quality youngsters of their own playing well in his position.

My worry forWilf is if he does find a so called bigger club to buy him he may likely spend his prime years getting splinters in his arse as a bench warmer.

I think Wild needs to decide if he wants to stay at Palace or move on. I do feel that his choice isn't in stone yet and could go either way. Pepe's 70m move to Arsenal has shown that Wilf can be worth that much but the club will have to take the money over a period of years, which imo something like 12m a year for 5 years is not so bad if we don't take out loans on that amount.

If all you're going to judge him on is goal return then yes. But obviously I'm sure you've noted the additional work he has done for the team this season, that he is playing 30m deeper, and crucially receiving the ball with more opponents between him and the goal. He has actually had some very good games for us this season before the last couple, without scoring or looking spectacular.

Technique for De Bruyne's goal was ridiculous. Fabinho's was a good strike in a crucial game. But Zaha's was a fabulous team goal in which he played a big part in the build-up, beating 2 players and then perfect release of pass, followed by a fantastic run. Benteke did very well and Townsend's disguised reverse ball was extremely clever, but the finish, intelligently letting the ball run across his body taking out 2 defenders and creating more space rather than just snatching at it, was world class imho. Not saying it was better than the aforementioned goals, but it should have been up there under consideration. Imbo of course.

I agree with this. I think his work rate has been excellent this season. He has done well for us and been a key part of the team, but hasn't performed the spectacular solo role that we have seen from him in past seasons.

It's not 'additional' work is it? Its just what he should do in that role/position. He isn't making some huge sacrifice or above average effort. We don't need to dress up Wilf's contribution because its clear to everyone that he has ability beyond the rest.

In reality, his performances this season have varied significantly so grouping them all together is difficult. He has ranged from can't be a***d, through quiet matches with flashes of brilliance to 90 mins of controlled, if not slightly understated but quality performances. It's difficult to pretend goals or assists don't matter in any assessment of him but of late those performances have been on the upward trend and he has started scoring.

We just have to hope he is going to handle this window better than the last. At the risk of p***ing him off I would say to him that we are happy for him to hawk himself around for Summer deals at a certain fee but there is no way we will let him go this Xmas now. Any Summer deal has to be locked by eof June/July or he stays again. The last bit might not fly but something like that.

We've been a lot more expansive in the last two games and Zaha's performances suddenly improve......Imagine my shock.

Well exactly, if you ask Wilf to defend in the full back positions and then give him the ball on the half way line with the opposition defence all set in position then don't expect fireworks. I didn't see the Burnley game, but Zaha was higher up the pitch against Liverpool I felt. So even in the 4-3-3 he can stay higher, as long as others are prepared to drop deeper. Luckily for us, Townsend and Ayew are happy to do that.

Let's see if Bournemouth try their 'unofficial' rotation fouling policy on Wilf tonight.

Can't see him going abroad, and amongst the Premiership - who else would want him / he would want to go?
