There is no way the continent would take this lying down and let the UK keep the good bits. That is going to be bad for employment when all kinds of tariffs go up.

Britain imports more form the whole world than it exports, do you suggest leaving the world? Britain now and for over a thousand years has depended on trade for its wealth and that requires interacting with the world rather than withdrawing from it.

And tarriffs hurt who ? The EU EXPORTS more to the UK than it imports. Tariffs hurt the EU far more than they would us. What part of that don't you get ?

LOL. I will give you a chance to edit that or delete it because it makes no sense what so ever. The EU has a free trade agreement with Mexico.

The UK can sit down with the EU and come up with a specific free trade agreement because it makes sense for the EU. Germany wants to sell us its cars. Italy and Greece want to sell us its olive oil. Denmark wants to sell us its TV shows and Ferret porn. This idea that somehow if we leave the EU the barriers go up and all trade grinds to a halt is hysteria.

Saxo Bank chief executive Lars Seier Christensen, The Danish bank boss sees the UK's election outcome as "our one chance to say stop" to bureaucracy in Brussels.

Is the plan an all UK one vote referendum?

I'm sure the SNP with their newly swelled ranks will be hotly contesting this and pushing for a right to veto any 'out' vote. ie if all four countries don't all vote the same way, the UK stays in.

To be interpreted as hoping that Dave will enable the banks do more stuff that is socially inappropriate so that the bankers can award themselves obsene bonuses?

Those of us who want us to the leave the EU are the 'little' people on this one. The Multinationals will be throwing everything they can at us. Such is life.
I don't know what a soc.lib or why questioning the need for an EU referendum identifies me as one.

There's bits of the service/finance sector that Germany will happily put barriers in place to, for their own benefit.

Hopefully some stipulation that only people who understand the benefits of being in and the pitfalls of being out (and the opposite too) are allowed to vote

Sadly, most of the "out" votes will originate from little islanders.

You keep up with that sort of posting. Because it matters. That is the sort of thing that worked so well in stopping UKIP from winning the Euro elections and I am sure the same tactic will work in preventing an 'out' vote from winning.

The 'in' side needs people like you being as vocal as you can be. Keep up the good work.

Not sure what has been posted that provokes you so. You don't want people educated on a specific matter being the ones who actually decide on it?

I think the whole idea of a referendum is ridiculous. Why else do we elect politicians other than to have people to make these decisions? Why not just scrap parliament and have Joe Ignorant Public decide everything by text vote?
