They'll certainly take loads more than us, what with it being only about 4 hours travelling time from Frankfurt to venues.
But they also have potentially another Europa league campaign to come and got to the semi finals of last years competition. So they played a lot of European away games last year and probably will do again this year. I would imagine quite a few may be financially recovering from last season or keeping their powder dry for this one. However I would expect Hertha Berlin to bring plenty over for the game at Selhurst for the opposite reasons.

When we played them in Füssen in 2005, slightly closer, there was barely 100 travelling Eintracht fans. Palace had about the same number.

I managed an air bnb for the week in Bern at £340. Getting a train there and back, about 10 hours via Paris. Loco2 is good for tickets but be prepared for expensive eurostar journey as all cheap advance long gone now. Not sure about prices for flights.

Maybe in the near future we'll have a set of fixtures in a less expensive location with a good choice of travel options. Maybe.

Tickets booked for both games, can't wait.

If anyone needs any info about Switzerland (I live in Lausanne), let me know.

All booked for the Saturday, should be good laugh. In via Germany as DB Trains v cheap as are flights. Good footage of Wolves in the same game last season. Vendors were selling beer! Its not at the Young Boys Ground. Its Bern FC's ground; looks more non-league! Trophy is huge haha.

Seen a few comments like this, as well as bemoaning the Forest game being on a Friday night.

It seems that a number of people are forgetting what these friendly matches are really for. To be blunt, they're not for us. It's a bonus if we can attend, sure, but they are glorified training exercises to get ready for match day one.

I'm not being arsey.

Domestic friendlies give a chance to see the team pre season. But they and the overseas ones have a single purpose. To prepare the team. Presumbaly the management team will look at timings, teams, accommodation, travel, costs, practice facilities all sorts of things. And the club stick in commercial issues to the mix.

It's not for travelling fans tbh. And not sure it has even been.

The only criteria is that all the club's expenses are covered.
That the club's media dept put out a couple of articles, and online purchase of tickets in the away end was made available was a bonus.
Still cheaper and more accessible than South Africa or Hong Kong
