England should be disappointed with themselves if they don't get to the final at least.

Powerhouse batsman, a deep batting line up, very good experience, bowlers in decent form.

First time in a long time that Pakistan has had such a toothless bowling line up. Not expecting much. Although the batting has improved quite a bit. In yesteryear, I'd have expected a 130 odd all out.

Headingley is struggling with attendances for Tests and ODIs I have to say. Touts had hundreds of tickets it seemed, but very few customers. There will be some concern after the costs of the new stand there. The Pakistani community certainly didn't turn up in any numbers. Still, made the lines for beers very quick - a positive at the time, not so now.

Thankfully Ed Smith has been overruled and Dawson has replaced Denly in the WC squad. Willey the unlucky pace bowler to miss out.

Unsure why they didnt play Dawson in any of these ODIs. Was obvious that Denly isnt good enough to be a spinner within a World Cup. As a Kent fan, I couldve told you that.

Just thinking ahead to the Ashes, Australia are going to have months of acclimatising, playing in the world cup for a lot of them getting used to conditions as opposed to what England do down under which is play a couple of warm up games against a team of pensioners before heading to the Gabba.

Even further back in the cycle the Aussies generally play a tough series in India before England arrive while England have had no Cricket or a holiday in the Caribbean, its no wonder we routinely get stuffed down there and this year the schedule means the Aussies will be double well prepared for the Ashes.

However they will have had very little ‘red ball’ cricket so will be very much in ODI mode, which will be good for us

Some of our players could play county cricket for 2-3 seasons and still get out chasing the swinging ball, refusing to change their technique.

We have a fair few of those ourselves - and playing test cricket to boot

That didn't look out to me. If there had been say 5 overs left, it could have been significant.

Lowry's painting of 'A cricket match' goes under the hammer at Sotheby's next week. And to help push up the score, sorry price, Sotheby's have made another of their rather good pre-sale videos. Well worth a look whatever form of cricket you might enjoy.
