Killing Joke at the 100 Club sold out within a couple of minutes, but i managed to get a ticket for Colchester Arts Centre, which is in a church with about 350 capacity. Should be mad, but Jaz may have to dial down on the pagan rituals.

Springsteen and The National for me. Past favourites include The Clash, The Jam, Joy Division, The Specials, Gang of Four, The Only Ones. All time favourite concert was probably David Bowie at Earls court in July 1978.

Iron Maiden for me. Especially with Di'Anno. Saw all the concerts at the Rainbow. Best though was after the 1st album came out they went back and played a show at The Ruskin Arms in East London. Absolutely brilliant.

Flaming Lips, as has already been mentioned, put on a tremendous show. Like being bathed in music. Eels are great live. Avett Brothers are generally superb live (though I have seen them be shit, but everyone else seemed to think they were great that night). Flogging Molly too.

Actually that reminds me I saw The Darkness once and they were actually very good, not just entertaining but could seriously play too. Smallish venue in Barcelona 500 odd, they blew the roof off.

One surprising one for me, last year, was the Smile. Never really liked Radiohead, and I didn’t really expect much of the gig, but they were amazing, and if you get the chance you should see them.

The band I wish I could see one more last time is The Cramps. Seriously great live.
PIL and Flaming Lips (pre Wayne talking bollox for 10 mins between each song) are great too.

Depeche Mode, Birmingham 1990 (I think).
Incredible, though Dave Gahan was off his bits at the time.

I saw them at Wembley Arena in 99? Decent gig, but they may as well have put the album on as the show didn't differentiate from the recording

Saw them at Wembley Stadium just before they split up and, whilst they were good, they were supported by Kasabian who absolutely blew them away.
Another shout for PiL. Seen them a couple of times, the last being at Shepherd's Bush O2 in 2016. Excellent show. I bought the CD of the show which was available straight afterwards and is still regularly played. Also The Clash at the Lyceum in about 1980, Muse at Wembley Stadium in 2007 and Slade in Guildford in 1980 - that was great fun and everything that they played was about twice as fast as on the record.

I think that was the last tour that I really enjoyed seeing them, I much preferred 84-87 period to any other with them. Haven't seen them live now since 2006 having moved to Aus, where they never come, but have tickets to see them in California in March. Fletch's death made me think it might be their last tour so I ought to make the effort.
