Schoolboy tactic's from England. Curran's innings was great but we lost by the singles he didn't take. It was only a run a ball in the last 10 overs and they let the rate get too much at the death despite the Indians trying their best to gift us a win with their fielding.
England also should have run themselves out about 4 times when again they only needed a run a ball, it was schoolboy tactics. India are a great team make no mistake but even so that was just ridiculous. |

Curran just didn't show enough faith in Wood getting him back on strike and ultimately it's where it got blown in the end. Plus side is he's likely to learn from an innings like that and less likely to make a similar mistake next time.

It would have been very interesting if the obvious no ball for height bowled at Curran in the penultimate over (or maybe the 47th) had been rightly looked at by the third umpire. An extra run and a free hit would probably have swung it our way. Tiny margins.

I went to cut the grass when I saw Moeen was going for sixes off the first balls he faced when we needed to just keep the score ticking over and Malan went out as soon as he got to 50.
Was surprised to see it was still going on when I got in. Saw the comedy fielding from India at the end. Match should have been over much sooner but fair play to Curran for that knock. He must be pretty gutted he didn't make 100 and win the match when it was within grasp. Hopefully he learns from it and comes back stronger just like Stokes after the World Cup versus Windies.
