Thanks for the reply.

They are utter *****.
It was my accountant that told me this this morning, saying that they had so many people contacting them with regards to putting their house up to cover the loan. Disgraceful.

This illustration I received may be helpful.

XX Ltd employs Mr A at an annual salary of £24,000, so £2,000 per month. Mr A has opted out of auto enrolment.

Each month, Mr A currently receives net pay of £1,665 which is after deducting PAYE of £191 and employees NIC of £144. On this salary, the employer pays employers' NIC of £174.

The available grant for the employer is the lower of
(a) 80% of (£2,000 + £174), and
(b) £2,500

So a grant of £1,739.
Cheers Maz.

If it is a partnership it will not pay dividends.

If they follow the tax rules - partnerships with individuals (not body corporates) as partners are essentially treated as two self employed people.

There's probably a lot of people like me who work two jobs, one employed one self-employed.

It looks like the rules mean you'll only get support if the majority of your money comes from being self-employed.

I'm lucky in that I can continue to work from home, but for those that can't, that self employed income is often the difference between making ends meet and not.

You probably want to get someone else to verify that. I haven’t done U.K. partnership tax in forever,
