U18s are down in Bath for pre-season at the moment, they won 5-0 against Exeter (U18s I assume) today. They beat a Bromley team 1-0 in their first game (again, U18s I think, maybe U23s)
Woosie, apologies if I missed it elsewhere, but how did the u23s get on against standard leige? ?

A few first-year scholars were involved - Aveiro and Street included. Liege were an older side I think. Not that it makes a 4-0 defeat any better, particularly when one of the younger players publicly said it was an "awful performance"!

However Kirby, Lokilo, KaiKai, AWB, Jach, all U23s with the 1stteam at the moment. Some of those played a lot of games last season and were influential.

I'm told that John-Kymani Gordon has been called up by England Under 16s for their games against Croatia next week.

Excellent achievement as I think it's a strong cohort. He has previously been at training camps with several other lads.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him debut at Under 18 level for Palace this season but that cohort is strong too

Think he's a striker/CF. Definitely an attacking player

Kirby had a very nice cameo today for England U19s. Just 10 mins but made a good impact. Very composed.

I'm going to stick my neck out and make a (half) prediction.

I think Rob Street will make it at Championship/PL level, possibly even at Palace.

John-Kymani Gordon made his England U16 debut at the weekend and made an assist in a 2-0 win over Croatia

Interesting stuff. Breaking into the U23 team was quite an achievement for a 16 year old so will be interesting to see his development. Saying that I assume Daly would be ahead of him currently?

Interesting. That's the youngster that bumped up into the U23 at the end of the season? Tall physical player who gets stuck in well for his age?

Yes Daly is ahead of him but they aren't the same player really.

Martin - Yes that's the one. Never fault him for his effort or knowing when to chase the ball down. Certainly capable of scoring goals as well. Old fashioned CF traits

I think it's just about the formalities. Been told it's definitely happening but there hasn't been any obvious progress that is visible.

The 18s are playing on Saturday so I'll see what I can find out then.

Anyone have views on MacGregor? Cautiously optimistic after watching him at Stevenage on Tuesday.

Looked at home at that level might have helped him that when he came on some of the stevenage players were tiring but was encouraging to watch his performance big and powerful and can pass the ball .

Thanks. Woosie above mentions a player called "Street". Did he come on at Stevenage? There was a young guy who came on quite late and played in midfield in an attacking role who looked quite useful. Wasn't afraid to make a tackle. Stevenage weren't announcing subs so it was hard to tell.
