He’s been on the bench for every game so far (apart from City). I think McArthur and Gallagher’s form is the reason why we haven’t seen him.

Exciting to think that we have him, Eze and Ferguson to come back into the squad!

He had no real pre season due to his disagreement with Watford which dumped him into the U23s. Plus PV said that his fitness levels were Championship not PL level which I thought interesting (and would also have applied to Eze & Olise). His time will come, its a long hard season and injuries will mean his chance will come. Couldnt really see who you would drop to accomodate him at the moment.

I was quite surprised to see kouyate get the nod in front of luka at the weekend to be honest , but I have a feeling we may have to wait until the fa cup third round before we see Hughes in a palace shirt

My Derby mate loves him still. Puts him in the bracket of Olise, Eze and Gallagher from our recent signings. While he has limitations, his footballing brain is beyond his talent. Says he is a class player and very rarely gives the ball away. For me he is whom we should have been brought on versus Arsenal. But he will get a chance to shine, we pursued him.

I said exactly the same about bringing Hughes on to se the Arsenal game out. Was the perfect player in the right position.

The fact we haven't seen him, despite Eze being out shows how far we've come, we have real competition to get into the starting 11. Not even Wilf is a guaranteed starter these days!

He was very very highly rated when at Derby... there is quite the player in there. Fingers crossed he really shines here.

No rush for him if its a pre-season fitness thing, but hopefully he's up to speed soon.

Can't believe he's only 26, seems to have been around for ages
