Totally agree with this. What he lacks in composure is made up by the shift he puts in week in week out. Underrated player definitely. |

Don't agree on that though he's a bit of a Marmite type of player. On the ball and especially around the opposition box, he is average at best. But for getting about the pitch, filling in gaps and getting back to make tackles and blocks he is more than decent enough. Admittedly he's another one we could do with upgrading in the long term but then he's not alone in that thought.

Someone who is average at everything would be an awesome player.

Does all the ugly stuff well.
Just needs a ball player next to him.

Think Jimmy Mac fits that description pretty well. Besides above average stamina and close control.

He's a poorer version of Viera and I don't mean that as a criticism. Really useful and often effective player. Good signing

Cheikhou Kouyate
Nope, he’s rather good at breaking play up,running with the ball, tackling & heading. Not so good at passing and shooting.

He is inconsistent during games which is frustrating but with an inconsistent player you get an peak aswell as a trough, his peak makes him a good player to have in the squad.

Love the guy.
Not sure why he turned his back for the 1st goal though?

Jedinak was more obvious in how impacted on the game though. Luka is too. Kouyate doesn't appear to have an obvious impact on the game however, even though he sort of does. That's why I still don't really know what to think of the guy

Is he consistently inconsistent? Or inconsistent in his inconsistency?

Yesterday he wasnt great though other 2 had better games. Jimmy Mac iswinning it every week at the moment in there. Outstanding hes been this year. Shows we should be careful with the obsession of youth..

It's an issue you can't knock Wickham about, he's our most consistent player by quite some margin. He's our Mr Reliable when it comes to not ever being able to rely on him

That contiued when he joined on a permanent and of course he was a regular in the team that won promotion and still a regular as we surged to Premier League survival under Pulis. Then he did nothing after he left us for Cardiff. But I can see the attributes Kouyate offers instantly - so don't feel the same way as you about him. |

Our shortcomings in midfield have nothing to do with Kouyate. Put him into a midfield of Luka, Jimmy Mac and RLC and we would do just fine. We lack creative players ( or at least ones we are willing to play ) and just because Kouyate isn't the solution doesn't make him a problem in general.

I would rather have cheik in midfield than schulp.
