Made some big tackles but also made some awful passes. Very handy player in games like these but I'd rather Meyer in the games where we need to do something with the ball.

he was decent today, bit of a mixed bag. but its his first start as he was away with afcon so was bound to be a bit rusty. good player though, he will get better.

And the run in last season where we we bagged a shedload of goals.

Imagine Kouyate, Thomas, & Jedi in the same midfield.

I agree with your first sentence. I think our best midfield three would be a double shield of him with Luka, and Meyer or the new Spanish lad sitting between those two and our CF (whoever that may be).

Good luck with trying to outmuscle them.
My all time favourite memory of Thomas was him punching Kevin Dillon off the ball in the FA Cup and getting away with it |

He consistently can't control the ball and misplaces 5-10 yard passes. Has many qualities but don't see Guardiola coming in for him anytime soon.

Cost us a goal. I dont know what he adds to the team other than being big.

Same as KG when we got promoted. If his only job is it to make a tackle and then give the ball to the more "technically gifted" players to create something then that is fine with me.

For me Kouyate is best when others are doing the straightforward defensive work of shielding the defense and he can maraud around imposing himself on the opposition, trying to win the ball back and using his strength to get forward. It's usually more use when the opposition is having the majority of the ball, but it can be handy when we want to do a high press too. Just not when we want to keep possession and find a way through a team that's sitting back.

Or Gazza at WHL standing right up close to the touchline to try and stop Thomas getting his long throw ins into the box. Thomas smacked Gazza in the face with his follow through - he didn’t stand there for the next throw! |

From listening to the radio it sounded like he was amazing.
He was winning tackles and breaking up their play. |
