I dont know about others but If I was offered either Benteke or Bolasie for next season id chose Benteke.

I dont want to see him go but He didnt look right end of last season

If it's basically a cost-neutral swap for Benteke then it will be a brilliant deal.

He hasn't looked that bothered recently and he's an AFCON liability too.

I was talking about a cost-neutral swap for Benteke.

That means Benteke in, Bolasie out with no transfer debt incurred.

We pay £13m for Townsend and yet people think Bolasie's worth £30m. How many goals and assists last season? Any offer above £20m should be accepted. He would not get a regular starting place in any top 10 team.

This. Surprised any top team would drop £20million+ on a player that doesn't offer goals or assists. Yes he scares defenders and offers an outlet but in a results business is he going to get 8-10 goals a season and 8-10 assists. The answer is no.

Either he's a very good player or he's not worth 30-40 million quid, you can't have it both ways.

transfer market today allows you to have it both ways. He has 3/4(?) years remaining on his deal. Palace aren't under any pressure to sell. If a club really wants Bolasie, they'll have to over pay. £40M we wouldn't get granted, but in between £30M-40 is realistic today I think

Bolasie is key to us, we don't need to sell, so to prize him away from us people will have to pay silly money.. So completely different scenario to Townsend. We won't sell unless it's way in excess of £20m imo

He got 11 assists 14/15 season (including being away at Afcon). Play him wide and we will see the best of him. No idea what that Pardew experiment with him was about last season.

Townsend's clause meant we got him cheaper than he would have been, otherwise I think it would have been £15-20m. However, I still agree with your post in general.

Hope Yala stays but if we sold him for around £20m it would be decent business IMHO. With the Townsend deal we would have made a £7m profit and have got a player 2 years younger, who isn't going to head off to the AFCON.

Didn't he sign a new 3 yr deal last summer? So I make it more like 2 years
