True story.

When I was a prefect at boarding school, I threw a dart into a pupils leg for having the audacity of not knocking on the prefects common room door and waiting to be given permission to enter. He trotted along to the sanitorium and said that he fell over and a nail caused his injury. The sanitorium sister knew he was lying so reported him. I felt bad, so told the housemaster what had actually happened. I was praised for my honesty and received no punishment. The victim was gated and had to tidy up rubbish for a week for lying.

I won't dwell on whether the Mods are right or wrong to ban Elgin - in my opinion they do a difficult job, for the love of the BBS, and I leave decisions to them. But if they were potentially considering reinstatement at some point:

Could we bring Elgin back under similar conditions to Shamima Begum (assuming she comes back to the UK) ?

Deradicalisation programme - get him to understand that not everyone is Russophobic and challenging his world view.

Restricted movement - no access to the Politics Forum.

Curfew - Not allowed on the BBS between the hours of X and Y.

Meet with parole officer - He has to go for a pint with ExiledStirling once a week.

Baby - Elgin's children to become wards of the BBS.


Elgin's non-political posts always made me chuckle. As for some of the posts on political threads...I never post in those myself (I try to remain apolitical in public due to being in the Armed Forces), but I always read them. He's not the only person capable of and guilty of vitriol when it comes to passionate beliefs.
