He might of been buying loads of sweets to toss in to the crowd when he emerges from the tunnel Saturday, bet you won't be quite as harsh if some Jelly Babies or a mini Twirl falls in to your lap!

Palace must be really desperate to consider signing Adebayor , We have been in the Premiership for nearly 3 years and should be setting our sights higher and not looking to sign troublesome journey men and false bargains etc .

Instead this guys been out shopping all week, great.
This is a complicated move given that Adebayor is a free agent who is still being generously rewarded by his old club who happen to be our next opponents. It may be Spurs who are holding up the deal, who knows for sure. I bet that if he comes the deal will be announced over the weekend or latest by Monday.

It certainly seems to be being held up somewhere.

player x, linked with club y, signs the next day.
player x, linked with palace, signs at the end after all possible other options have been explored and discounted.

Going to trust Pardew on this one I think. If he can mend him back into a one in two goalscorer, who are we to think its risky. They're all risky, but at least we know hes unplayable on his day.

I disagree here, we're not on the other clubs forums and twitter etc, they all go through the same links rumours etc as we do that seems to get dragged out, we only here about it when it hits mainstream media which in most cases is pretty much when the deals tied up.
Don't always assume the grass is greener elsewhere, majority of clubs fans go through the same as we do.

Hmm, I dunno but will take your word for it. We certainly get played off to drum up interest. Not sure if that happens to all teams, but I suppose it must.

Any agent with a client to tout will look at various clubs' problems and put it out that so and so club is interested.

We can't score at the moment so we're in the "Crystal Palace interested" pile whenever someone who has scored more than 8 goals is being hawked around.

More demand equals them pitching for higher wages and add-ons even if it's a load of old bollocks.

Maximum wages and salary caps have been talked about for years, but each season they get more and more. Not sure how you remove agents from the game though.

Simple. Make it illegal, (in football laws), for clubs to make payments to agents.

The only legal remuneration for an agent should be from his client.

The players would start to realise how much money these leeches are sucking out of the game because they would be paying for it.

More than a few would end up representing themselves simply by employing a good lawyer at a fraction of the cost.

Whatever he can screw out of Palace, which could explain some of the delays.

Players trust these people and, God love 'em, a lot of players are too stupid to see that their agent is acting in the best interest of themselves and not their client.

oh and Speroni/Dann want him as well...
That report is from a year ago and Jenas said: "I would take a risk on Emmanuel Adebayor"

He then goes on to say that he could save QPR from relegation and how Harry Redknapp can get the best out of him. I'd hardly say that's the biggest vote of confidence, and it says nothing about his character.

Looking at the clubs who have already done business disproves this. Bournemouth, Norwich, West Ham, Newcastle, etc have identified what they needed and made it happen. Our gaps are blatantly obvious, yet remain unaddressed. Elgin Eagle was absolutely spot on, it is the Parish way. The end result has often been worth waiting for (and the man has unquestionably done wonders for the club) but we are almost never decisive. Look at Hector - weeks and weeks after we were reported to be interested, he signed for Chelsea. Parish said it showed we were looking at the right players, but what were we doing all that time? It even happened with a manager - linked with Pulis immediately, went through a long list of other names, ended up with Pulis weeks later. Got the right man, but I think compared to other clubs we are ponderous in our transfer business.

In a lifetime support of Palace with many low points Brolin getting his bandage knocked off by a ball right in front of the away fans to mass jeers as we went two down within minutes was a distinctive low
