Well that's not going to stop. After the 2017-18 year end they spend nearly 60m on new players at the start of last season so the amortisation cost would be around 14m a year, plus the higher wages for the new players and compensation for Houghton. So there won't be any profits when the new figures come out at Christmas (not that we will be any different). Except obviously that the 115m Brighton have spent on players over the two seasons only enabled them to avoid relegation by one place and two points. More spending needed at Brighton me thinks. 55m for Dunk will save the day.

Tony could recoup some money by betting on Brighton to go down next season as it is a pretty good bet that they will.

A good source has told me the figures that Zaha and Sakho (who is on more) are on. Truly eye-watering for a club that only pulls in 26k fans every home game.
Another Tarquin with in depth knowledge of our finances. I would say having the second biggest debt in English football is more worrying. Especially with a history that is mainly in the lower leagues.

Spoken to a few Brighton fans I know now, mostly nervous about Potters appointment and think it's a gamble.

Swansea fan I know gutted that Potter left and thinks he'll take Brighton to new heights.

16th?

How sweet that this particular Tarq thinks that matchday income is such a large important slice of income when in the Premier League. They are obsessed with that stadium.

I wouldn't be surprised if our matchday net profit is higher than theirs anyway. Notwithstanding the fact that BHA FC don't even own the ground I expect that the costs of Sussex plod and other running costs are way in excess of ours, and we have London pull for corporate whoring.

I can't see that anyone without a Palace connection, or being offered a very competitive rate, would chose Palace for their corporate events. There are generally an awful lot of empty boxes on match days outside the category A games, and the corporate events facilities in the main stand are pretty poor and with very limited capacities.

'Good news, chaps, we're having our showcase corporate jolly in London'

'Where?'

'Er, near Croydon'.

Some of the posts on there are disgraceful. Most a just plain idiotic, and one or two actually seem reasonable. They get shot down pretty quick though.

Wasn't there a video from the away end at the home game against BHA, this season or last, where you could clearly see fans making monkey gestures? The ebola chant they have for him isn't great either. But mostly they seem to think it's all a big lie because he's a diver. Doubly wrong. Bunch of pricks.

Easy 10 wading in with his "racism barely happens" argument whilst taking the opportunity to use his favourite word "nigger" and hide it like he wasn't actually being racist himself.

Quote:
If he was getting monkey chants and being called a "nigger" at almost every game he plays in, I think it would certainly have been picked up on by now. Look at the (justified) furore when Sterling was abused by a section of the crowd at Chelsea this season. This stuff doesn't get brushed under the carpet in this country, the media pick up on it and highlight it.

I'm not saying that it doesn't go on. But "nearly every game" ? Seems a stretch.

Massive massive ****
