Minimum Wage at Selhurst

Really owes us fans in the Arthur something before the Main Stand kicks in. We have to put up with atrocious conditions in the stand. It's a disaster waiting to happen. He also needs to push minimum wage to the matchday staff, f**king hate that our club aren't doing that for the young people who work for us .

Check out the latest trust notes, club confirmed the decision not to pay a London living wage came from the boardroom in respect of “casual “ match day staff.

I appreciate they are two different things, but this is a club who pays Jonny Williams and Papa Soure a salary ffs

They do, where applicable. I suspect the poster means the living wage.

Cheers.

Disgraceful with so much money swilling around and we average a wage of £50k a week for the players.

I am a massive fan of SP but this is just so wrong. It actually sums up what is wrong in the wider society we live.

Come on Palace, set an example.

That will do alot more good, attracting better staff to speed up the catering, rather than the cashless stadium idea which is aload of bollox.

What is a "London living wage" ?
And who are these matchday "youngsters" ?

A few minutes ago, you didn't know what was being discussed (I suspect you still don't know), now you are all indignant on their behalf.
Osborne raised the 'minimum wage' quite a bit, to the 'living wage' lobbied for, by various groups. McDonnell didn't want to be outflanked, so Labour came up with an even higher figure - is it that cheap politics / stunts, that is being discussed here ?

The thinking is, rightly, that the minimum wage is not enough for London living.

FFS.
No its not cheap politics or stunts.
Its paying a rate that allows people to keep their heads above the water in one of the most expensive cities in the world.

Any responsible employer should be paying it.
Its reprehensible that Palace aren't

Agreed, it's shameful that Palace are not paying it. It's a disgrace.

Re cashless vending. I went to watch Bayern Munich play a home match about 6 years ago. They were cashless then. Much quicker getting served. 3% of money that moves between people / companies in the UK is now via cash.

The club should ensure all staff working on match days either directly for the club or for a supplier should be earning at least the London Living Wage.

It is a random wage dreamed up by politicos on the make.
It has nothing much to do with the labour market, or reality.
On the other hand, the rail unions hold Londoners to ransom, adding a wodge to your precious "cost of living", and nobody does a thing, not the sheeplike commuters, certainly not the cop-out mayor, and still less the useless halfwit blagger, laughingly known as the Minister of Transport.

And that's why we pay less, and have prices frozen for a few years. You might like to pay an extra 100 quid, to tart up the bogs etc but I bet you wouldn't get many takers.

There are only three toilets for women. In the whole stand. On bxing day members of my family missed 15 minutes of the second half as they were queueing. Surely that is unacceptable? Most of the time it's a blessing missing 15 minutes of a game nowadays, both that's another issue.

Why can't they just put anti bacterial gel in the toilets too so there isnt a crush for 10 people to use one sink and one dryer at the same time?

Doesn't feel right when you think of the millions paid to Mutch, et al. Premier league money doesn't seem to filter down much past the players.
