Think I’ve already said it on this thread, but wait until we play Villa. Now that’s a set of fans with misplaced arrogance. Loads of them think they’re the next Wolves for no real reason.

Yep, despite finishing light years behind Norwich and Sheff last season.

They've spent over £100m on absolute crap as well.

They may well scrape survival but nothing more than that IMO.

They are a genuinely big club though, not done much in your lifetime I know, but their fans will still have that big club mentality.

Yeah, but the fact that they won trophies in the 80s is completely irrelevant to their current state.. Sheff United fans thinking they can comfortably beat us is far less deluded than Villa fans thinking they can replicate Wolves, who brought in champions league calibre players thanks to Jorge Mendes.

speaking of, it'll be fascinating to see our midfield 4 on Sunday. I reckon we might see Meyer (not going to be dropped after being one of our best players v Ev) - McCarthy - Luka - Townsend

No chance, he is now in the premiership at the club he supports and loves.

Not if they get relegated, and even if they did it wouldn't put me off him one bit. His net Spend at Sheffield United in the past four years is insane for the amount they've progressed.

I think his philosophy he's implemented at Sheffield United is something which could follow on successfully in how we play right now. He'll add a third center back, push PVA and most likely a new RWB further up and get the narrow midfield four turning into that three in the middle he operates with. And of course using a front two up top.

It will be interesting to see which of their centre halves is the first to be sent off.

Just enjoyed reading this thread and also the version on the Sheffield forum. Can't wait for this match.
Sheffield Utd are a really solid club - I've been up there many times, and they are a great bunch. For their level of support, they've been abysmal for many years - almost as bad as Wednesday. As for Leeds......
As a club we'll always be looked down on by the "Sleeping Northern Giants". If only we'd won the FA Cup in 2016......or even started expanding Selhurst Park. But they do underestimate us. While AWB has gone, we are not so different to the squad that finished 8th in the second half of the season, and one of the very best away. We've also sold 2400 of our 2600 allocation for a televised Sunday afternoon match. Not bad for a small club in permanent danger of relegation (apparently). We are no Bournemouth....or Watford for that matter.
Bring it on.

No they seem a little touchy about that one.

Love that they criticise any confience we have whilst saying it worked for them in the Championship so it will work in the Premier League.

Well they did well against a Bournemouth side who ended last season in relegation form including the 5-3 spanking on the final day of the season, oh no they just grabbed a draw there.

Roy will have us set up well, he always does, and we have multiple ways that we can hut them if we play well.

I’ll never understand this stuff about Roy being a poor manager either. Yes he wasn’t great for Liverpool or England, but how is that relevant to his ability to manage a club like palace? Look at the job he’s done with us, West Brom and especially Fulham, and he’s a sure contender for best premier league mid table manager of all time.
