I was half joking. Of course it works away from home. We might want to think about changing something for home games though.

Luka clearly said in his recent interview that Roy is always adjusting the team tactics depending on the opposition, in contrast to Silva who sticks to his method of play regardless of opposition.

The SU system is certainly different and outfoxed a number of teams last season. The Premier League is a different kettle of fish. Hopefully we and others have watched the recordings of their games. We should have players who are better able to cope with off-beat tactics and more able to exploit the opportunities it could present. What I see is central defenders out of position. I can see the Top 6 (and others) taking them apart. Whether we will is another matter entirely.

The centre backs are out of position, but the wing backs tuck in and sorta take their place centrally, so it’s not as if they’re leaving themselves completely open. They did have the best defence in the championship last season after all.

Think Wilder might play a more traditional back 5 against the likes of Man City, but will fancy his usual tactics against teams like us.

Quite confident on this one..they will be up for it and will probably be too adventurous. We just need to chip away and catch them on the break

Anyone that has a high pressing style that can pass accurately and quickly will shit all over them.

A lot of championship clubs play direct counter attacking styles which will suit Wilders tactics because I suspect a lot of them can't pass well and there counter breaks down due to Wilders overload which a) congests the space on the wings which a lot of these clubs use to counter up and b) Championship players don't have the accuracy and speed of passing to get around the congestion while still maintaining a flowing counter.

I'm actually quite concerned about the tactics and the way we were playing last season as I think unless Roy does something about how he sets up our midfield passing and who is in it. Or Wilf has one of those matches and Andros hits a pearler, we'll be in trouble.

If he sets up with the narrow strikerless 442 from the season before last. That we used to use when we had Cabaye and RLC that would become a 235 when we had the ball in the box then we could **** all over them. But it depends on Mcarthy and Max/Victor being up to snuff for that tactic to work. We certainly struggled to use it last year with Max, Jimmy and Cheikh.

When BFS left CPFC, Parish asked him for his advice on who his successor should be. BFS suggested Wilder.

I know, I said that on the first page. I personally interviewed Wilder when he was doing charity fundraising for a local trust in Sheffield that deals with cancer patients, including his late father. He loves Sheffield, and Sheffield loves him (I get the impression that even the Wednesday fans respect him to some extent).

But he could get relegated and still do a good job, considering his paltry resources compared to the rest of the league. In that scenario, I think he could maybe be tempted here.

The tactic won Wilder the LMA Manager of the Year Award - ahead of Pep and Klopp.

Despite that award I think he’s still flown under the radar a bit in the football mainstream. Plenty see him as just another dinosaur like Warnock or Steve Bruce, despite him clearly being a very adventurous and astute modern tactician. Just because he’s old, English and gruff sounding.

Our away record is phenomenal, Sheffield United will look to get on the front foot which will suit us.
