Hes one of those players you think is younger because it took him a long time to break through in English football. Same as Jesse Lingard.

He has to take some responsibility, they've been utterly dreadful.

We definitely need an attacking central midfielder, it'd be nice to go for someone with pace which we really lack in the central areas.

Most of our squad have far too much history of being in struggling sides, so is it a surprise we struggle every season, we need to look away from these sorts of players and go for upwardly mobile ones.

Agreed. Mitrovic is good and nasty and we could do with both.

Mooy - is a good player and far better central rather than wasted Right Mid like he was on Sat. Unfortunately, fits into the category of another, small and not desperately quick midfielders, and we already have Jimmy and Max who fill this.

Hes getting on a bit and the injuries may be taking their toll.

Grant, who they got from Charlton showed that their are cheap players available (2m) who would boost the squad, even if he was 4th choice, would be a lot cheaper than Ayew.

He used to be underrated. I remember when Huddersfield first got promoted and we were linked with him, most posters commenting on the subject didn’t rate him and thought he wouldn’t make the step up.

I was against this signing due to the possible fee, but his contract does expire at the end of next season. His wages won't be silly either, and he adds a nasty side which we lack in this team at the minute.

Watching his display at the weekend, I thought he'd be perfect for us.

Lengthy article analysing Huddersfield's relegation. Two paragraphs on Mooy:

In terms of the players it is interesting to note that by this stage last season Aaron Mooy — a key man in midfield — had played 2531 minutes and created 45 chances while this seasons figures are 38 chances from 1959 minutes. His absence over the Christmas period, missing ten games, coincided with Huddersfield picking up just one point in the Premier League — a 0-0 draw at Cardiff.

Mooy starred in Huddersfield’s 2-0 away win at Wolves, scoring twice in what was arguably their best performance of the season — combining effective attacking (they had more possession, 55 per cent, and more shots on target; six) with their usual solid defending.

Aaron Mooy would be an excellent signing and would be the perfect foil if alongside Luka as it would give us not just solidity but much more fluency in midfield, also Luka can do what he does best and most effectively as a sitting and holding midfielder but who can play effective passes from deep. To complement him it needs a player than can pick up passes from deep positions and go but also able to play effective short/long passes, Mooy crucially also offers defensive qualities.
To add balance should we play a Midfield Three, then we need a young energetic quick attacking midfielder who can also add a goal threat, any of these players would be excellent for the role like Camarrso, Ward-Prowse, McNeil or Reece James all young and wanting to make progress.
Currently in the Mooy role we have, McArthur who i am a fan off but is now slowing down and struggles at times but still would be an excellent squad player, Meyer eventhough has undoubted quality unfortunately as we have seen is Not a Palace type player and needs to be sold. As for the often underated Kouyate, he again lacks pace but is such an important player that we must keep, however should Sakho move in the summer then i would like to see Kouyate as our ball playing Centre Back alongside Tomkins which could solve the problem without any outlay.

All day for me........however I'm not convinced he has the energy to play in a midfield 3.
442 central or one of 2 holding absolutely.
If we are to improve our home form we need more invention further forward. He would certainly contribute to that in that holding role but would require getting a further or creative or attacking central midfielder and won't be easy to find........ especially one that will have to work hard against the top sides. Max may fill that role if we try that.
