We could always spunk £15 million on a completely untried Ollie Watkins which for some seems more appealing
Isn’t Watkins exactly the type of player we are accused of NOT buying? Young, pacey, talented and open to improvement.

This would be a great signing on a permanent deal. About time we signed young players and developed them for ourselves and not for other teams.

I'd be delighted with this if Roy can turn Zaha and Townsend into out and out wingers in a 442. Abraham and Solanke up top could be a masterstroke with so much potential in ability and value. I'd take my hat off to the club if they pull this off.

Not bad value that assuming it includes additional clauses.

If it doesn't work out they can probably still flog him for £12m - £14m to a championship team in 18 months time.

If it does work out you're looking at a £25m + player.

Newly promoted clubs are hardly affected by FFP limits on player spending in their first season after promotion.

Hence why Wolves and Fulham have/are spending a lot on new players before they are restricted by the FFP Rules.

Palace will only spend what they can afford to spend and that is not likely to be £18m + wages on a new striker.

I’d love it if we signed this guy on a permanent deal. Going to be a class player. Unfortunately I can’t see us spending £20m on anyone this window.

if we were going to sign him then we should have done it before he was on loan at swansea or at the start of this season...price would have been lower than 18m, which is sadly more than we can afford

Really? In today's market I have Tammy Abraham as a £12m striker.

I know it's not the be all and end all but I quite like using Transfermarkt who have him as £9m rated.
