Joe Aribo

22 year old midfielder at Charlton. His contract is expiring at the end of the season but is supposedly favouring a move to Germany. Would we be able to entice him here remaining local and getting a good chance of first team football?

I feel these are the type of players we should be busting a gut to get. Looking at the list of good youngsters Charlton have let go in recent years like Lookman and Konsa.

Furthermore you have the likes of Maja and Yearwood available too who'd be good options for the future. I don't understand why we don't try and sign these players now instead of in five years time as their fees inflate.

Even though i have not seen these youngsters play(Lookman excepted) that you mention only read reports in newspapers of their potential so is hard to sing their praises, but yes you are right when you say these are the players a club like Palace should be in for.
However the difficulty a club like ourselves face is our priority must always be remaining in the premiership for its financial benefits, unfortunately collectively our Squad are not good enough to offer that comfort zone of ensuring safety, but also to allow the development of talented youngsters of playing in the First team due to the responsibility of staying up falling on their shoulders.
But i agree we need to take a fresh approach should we stay up next summer the club needs a shake up of the current squad, firstly by bringing in the right experience and quality for a solid First Team squad but balance it with being able to call on and develop exciting youngsters like say Maja and our own Kirby to come off the bench.

Have quite a few Charlton fans, they all rate him very highly, though the Karlan Ahearne Grant is there pick of future prospects, absolutely blistering pace by all accounts. 11 in 21 for him this year

Seriously hope we're pursuing this one. Especially in an area where we are so weak right now I think he's got a good chance of getting regular football.

Just what’s app’d a clowns friend who goes home and away and imo knows her stuff , her response was exceptional talent . She reckons Albie Morgan is next on conveyor belt. Rates Konsa now at Brentford highly just not Gomez highly. You imagine if we lose Two academy stars this summer in Wilf and Aaron and sign 2-3 of theirs as Lookman, Konsa and Aribo all possible.

Posted this back on Xmas Eve - then bought by Huddersfield. As for Aribo, he looks raw from what I have seen of him.

Worth having a look at Williams looks good in midfield.

It is a massive jump from Div1 to premiership and we must always bear that in mind when making judgement on players, if only we were a club able to bring in young promising players from the lower divisions but then give them the time needed to develop without being pushed into the firing line immediately as we tend to expect.
That is not to say there is not talent to be had in the lower leagues and that we should not pursue lower league players, it is simply that if bought, can we afford to give them the time they may need to develop before being pushed into the First Team.

Tooting lad, knew his brother (both arsenal fans) and i know he would be open to staying in south London and so Palace would be the perfect club for him (if Arsenal don't want him)

Agreed. Many PL clubs have a number of players out on loan at Championship clubs. With someone like Aribo you be looking to put him out on loan for at least a year.

Dunno as i think our midfield needs a proper shake up. The clowns friend I mentioned few posts back yesterday sent report from the weekend and apparently was completely unplayable . This is not only the type of signing we need to make but also need to make ASAP to stop bigger clubs coming in. Should fit Parish transfer policy of young , local , very talented and of course the all important sell on potential.
