Maybe we bought a fake Guaita

More interesting is Jairo's middle name (Jocquim) surely

You are right that Ayew has far more experience at this level but Sorloth isn't really that young. And his performances off the bench this year have heve generally been very poor. Missed that great chance against Spurs, conceded a silly free kick at Bournemouth and shown next to zero attacking threat. I just don't see any moments to even suggest he has the potential to make it at this level. Although I will take Roy's statement that they know he is a better player from training at face value - but I can only judge him by what I see. He has been poor in both of his last two starts in the cup too (Grimsby and Boro), OK v Swansea though.

We are scrapping to stay in the PL and we can't afford to give a player who is doing so little more game time with just the hope he'll improve. If he goes out on loan and improves and shows he has more quality then maybe we should give him more chances here in the future. But at the moment, with every point so precious, I don't particularly want to see him in our team any more than is necessary.

Alexander Sørloth

Right pony business from the club for the beginning, really. Hopefully get a decent fee in the summer.

On the upside, surely we’d only let him go if were wither signing someone or both Benteke and Wickham are fit. Happy with either.

It's funny how most fans can spot a mile off that this signing was never going to work. Crazy money involved and a big ask to expect him to come from nowhere and start banging them in.

It's oversaid on here - but we really need to be careful with transfers going forward, so many lessons need learning from, but we rarely do.

You are a bit off with your stats
The bottom line is he never got a start. Roy didn't like him and nor do most people on here it would seem. He never got a fair Run by Roy just like Roy didn't give Wilf a fair run for England and it was England's loss. But it does raise a big question on why Roy agreed to The transfer fee in the first place. Pretty crazy goings on. For me he should have been started at least half a dozen times to really judge and he should also have been partnered with someone like Ayew as twin strikers. But Roy is too defensive for that.

I’m on record saying he was pony and was never going to make it at this level after watching him twice. Got crucified for it.

Frankly it was blindingly obvious that he lacked the attributes for this level of football.

Have to say I agree. When he looked 'okay' in his first couple of games last season, it was only in the same way Tom Soares looked okay when Dowie played him in the PL. They both run up and down willingly and used their strength. But there was so sign of quality from either of them.

You could argue that we have 5 strikers if you count Wilf and Andros, and Benteke fit. More than we’ve had in a while and Sørloth is a level below all of them

I do believe A Sorloth has been harshly done by . In any event, with Jordan Ayew coming into form, I fear that if we only get one Centre Forward in January in and not two (and he doesnt work), we could be badly exposed again should C Benteke and C Wickham not reach their best levels or achieve regular injury free fitness after coming back .

You realise he’s not gone for good, just until the end of the season? He’s got a long term contract with Crystal Palace football club.

I still have faith he’ll come good

I do find it odd that some ‘fans’ are revelling in the misfortune of a Crystal Palace player. There’s defiantly a ‘I told you so’ feel from some posters on here. Very odd
