Really wanted tickets for Keane at Royal Albert Hall but pre-sale and general sale both sold out within a minute

They were great. I love their Joe Meek version of the Titanic theme. Watched loads of their shows on YT since.

Foals at Ally Pally last night. They bloody smashed it. You have to be bloody good to engage a London crowd in that venue. That’s the sweatiest I’ve been in ages!

Caught the veteran Horace Andy last night at the Jazz Cafe on a humid London night. Felt like we were in Kingston - Jamdown not Surrey Top choons, sweet vocal, excellent backing band.
Supported admirably by Askala Selassie...big woman, big voice, sublime delivery. Top night! Gonna see Gladys Knight at the RAH on Wednesday

Saw Eagles Of Death Metal at the Electric Ballroom in Camden a couple of weeks ago. I'd bought the ticket on a bit of a whim off of Twickets a few days beforehand and was chuffed that I did because they were superb!
Jesse Hughes is a great frontman and the level of musicianship was way beyond what I was expecting. They did a cracking version of Bowie's Moonage Daydream and a suitably cheesy cover of Bon Jovi's Dead Or Alive. Haven't been to the Electric Ballroom in years and had forgotten what a great little venue it is. |

INterpol supported by Pixx tonight at Brighton Dome.
Don't know if going to get there in time for Pixx tho.

got there in time for Pixx, who is perfectly acceptable listening.
Interpol were quite good, though I've had better times seeing them. Tomorrow night got Elvana at the Concorde2 in Brighton. Have seen them a few times now, so hopefully will see a slightly different set. Probably won't seek them out again for a while

Saw Fleetwood Mac last week at Wembley and having heard poor things from the Sunday gig, I was pleasantly surprised as was fantastic. Possibly for their set order slightly wrong but was still a great night

Foals last night was unbelievably good.
New album from start to finish. 1 new song, then 2 classics.

Have to agree incredible. One of them gigs that people will lie that they were at in a few years time. First time I’ve done a PRYSM new slang I’m assuming foals brought their own sound equipment cause it sounded perfect.

Task Sultana @ Ally Pally
Phenomenal. Great on several different types of guitars, a keyboard, a trumpet, drums, and a pan flute. Very powerful sound and voice, and a very psychedelic atmosphere. Clearly meant to lose yourself in the music, with or without the help of certain enhancements. Had a great stage presence too sorta just bouncing around everywhere. Even the support act was interesting, two piece called ‘the Pierce Brothers.’ Sounded like a progressive version of Mumford and Sons. Ally Pally is a fantastic venue too, although really in the middle of nowhere. If you haven’t heard of Tash Sultana, I’d highly recommend giving her a listen. Jeffrey Lewis & Los Bolts at Club85 in Hitchin last night. Great music, art, poetry & history lesson all in one, and only 10 minutes from my house. Wonderful!

Maps at the Purcell Room was pretty cool - I only knew 3 or 4 of the songs but it was a good night (although an amazingly short night, it started at a quarter to eight with no support act and was over by quarter past nine, it was a bit of a shock top come out into bright sunshine)
