Switch is back at Omeara on 8th May - I mentioned it previously before. Really good evening of new music in collaboration with Communion Music for £9 in a great venue. Really worth a go.

Also seen Skinny Lister there a few times and again last night at the Electric Ballroom. Really amazing gig. There's few better live bands. Even had a great surprise cameo of Frank Turner on the Ukulele for the last few songs

I really enjoyed The National in Paris last night. It probably all sounds very pretentious with a film, then a Q&A and then the show which was mostly playing the new album until the encore. It was absolutely excellent. The female vocals on the new album are absolutely beautiful. Can't wait for it to come out.

I'm going to the Scala show the day after - doing Brighton on a Monday night was too much of a stretch for me.

And I managed to get tickets! First time I've managed to get tickets for a big band in a small venue, am quite pleased

The National gig @ Royal Festival Hall was great.
I had slightly lower expectations with mixed reviews of the Paris gig, but I thought it was great. The new album sounds superb, and as Shoredtich says, the female vocals really add to it. I’d have liked one or 2 more older songs, but other wise it was superb. Doherty @ New Slang this week for me.

Just got a ticket for Ian McNabb on Saturday. I don't know anything about his stuff, but a combination of £7 and walking distance from home persuaded me. Also bought two tickets for Glen Matlock just before they went half price.

Teleman at Cambridge Junction last night. Nice, tight four piece with some killer indie-synth tunes. I'd see them again.

Suede were excellent last night, apart from Neil Codling looking utterly bored out of his skull.
BC Camplight were good as support too.

I went to see Atmosphere at the Electric Ballroom last night. My favourite group ever and they never disappoint, so I knew I'd enjoy it but the set list was the best I've ever seen from them I think.
Bangers, super old stuff, the hits off the new albums, something for everyone. Best hour and a half I've had since... er... well, Sunday

I thought the sound for BC Camplight was terrible (and then improved significantly for Suede)
